The Soda Guy

Earlier this year I was driving in Burlington county and decided to pull in to the parking lot of a Wawa convenience store in order to get something to eat and drink. After making my purchase, I got into my vehicle which was parked by the front door of the store. As many customers of this particular store do, I sat in my car eating my sandwich, casually observing those entering and exiting the store.

One man in particular caught my attention. He was a young man who appeared to be in his twenties. He was portly but not excessively obese. The man wore a brimmed “captains’ hat” with an anchor insignia in the front. He rode up to the front of the store riding an older type bicycle. It was the type without any gears to shift. It looked somewhat like the bike that Pee Wee Herman rode in the movie Pee Wee’s Great Adventure.

He got off his bike, leaned it against the the front wall of the store and entered the store. When he exited the store, he was carrying three bottles of soda. One was a one liter bottle. The other two bottles were twenty ouncers. His bike had no basket so I wondered how he was going to carry the bottles and ride his bike. Walking over to his bike, he placed the three bottles on the flat top of the store’s metal waste and recycling container. Next, he opened the bottle of the one liter soda and proceeded to drink the entire contents. Then he proceeded to gulp down the contents of the other two bottles.

A Bottle of Spring Water

After finishing the third bottle of soda, he walked back into the store. Within a few minutes, he came back out carrying a half liter bottle of spring water. He stuck it in his pants pocket, got on his bicycle, and rode out of the lot onto Route 38. I continued to observe him until he rode out of sight, giving him the nickname of “The Soda Guy”.

For the remainder of the day, my thoughts lingered over my observation of Soda Guy. I conjured up a scenario in my mind based on my observations. The young man was born with some challenges with regard to his mental processes. He probably lived with his parents who monitored and controlled his soda intake for health reasons. He told his parents/caregiver that he was going to the Wawa store to buy some spring water. While there, he had the opportunity to guzzle soda. He had to drink it at the store because he could not bring it home.

What Is His Destiny In Life?

There is a special place in my heart for those who go through their lifetime here on earth dealing with certain congenital challenges. Nature dealt them a raw hand at birth. Nevertheless, like the rest of the eight billion humans on this planet, they were born into this world with something specific to achieve – a destiny. Perhaps the destiny of Soda Guy is to be a teacher. A teacher of the importance of expressing the divine quality of compassion and kindness and sacrificial love on behalf of a soul who cannot survive on his own.

The Electric Tricycle Guy

Not long after my observation of Soda Guy, I observed Electric Tricycle Guy. It was raining lightly in the morning as I set out for my place of employment. As I got into my car and started it up, in my rear view mirror, I saw a man riding in the middle of the street in a three wheeled adult-sized electric bike. It had a big basket on the back. As he rode past me in the direction that I was headed, I drove slowly at a distance behind him. The street we were on came to a “T intersection”. The man stopped at the stop sign and patiently waited until it was safe to go, oblivious to the rain. His rain jacket had a hood but he was not using it. He then crossed over to the opposite side of the intersecting street. Going up a driveway, he continued riding, now on the sidewalk.

As I made my turn in my car, and drove past him. I got a good look at the man. In some way that I am unable to explain, I intuitively knew that Electric Tricycle Guy was another soul similar to Soda Guy. Perhaps it was the sudden wave of compassion running through me that I felt. I only saw his face for a couple seconds but there was something that told me that Electric Tricycle Guy also had to deal with mental challenges that the average person does not have to deal with.

What Is Destiny?

There are those that define your destiny as that which is preordained to occur in your life. The Oxford Language Dictionary actually has two different definitions for the meaning of the word destiny. The first is “the events that will necessarily happen to a particular person or thing in the future”. The second is “the hidden power to control what will happen in the future”. Looking at those two definitions, the second one appears to be the more accurate of the two.

We all come into this world with a purpose. You, me, our loved ones, Soda Guy, Electric Tricycle Guy, everyone. It may be different purposes at different phases of our lifetime. There are specifics that we came here to accomplish. These specifics are your destiny. You can endeavor to understand and fulfill your destiny. Or you can make the choice to ignore your true destiny and go off your true life path. You make the choice. It’s up to you.

You Have A Unique Destiny

Your destiny encompasses the full use of your skills and abilities to be, to learn, to teach, to grow, to create, to experience, to accomplish that which was planned before you entered the world. You perceive your true destiny through asking Divine Intelligence emanating from the Kingdom of God within you. Ask with a humble heart. It will assuredly be revealed to you. It will be something that you are able to do with what you have to work with, wherever you happen to be.

Every single person in the world has a unique destiny. That includes humans born with all types of congenital challenges. Every life is different with regard to that life’s destiny.

United States – Manifest Destiny

Sometimes, entire countries manifest their destiny. After the United States won its independence from Great Britain, it slowly moved west across the continent. After purchasing the Louisiana Territory from Napoleon in 1803, the idea of “Manifest Destiny” started taking root in the American psyche. The concept of Manifest Destiny was that it was the destiny of the United States to stretch all the way from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean. And by 1850, that is precisely what occurred. Once the idea of Manifest Destiny was thought of as a reality waiting to happen, that idea took on an energy of its own. Americans would not rest, could not rest, until this destiny was fulfilled.

You Are The One To Manifest Your Destiny……YOU

You may confuse destiny with fate. You may say, “Well, it seems like it’s my fate to _________________.” Fate essentially refers to the notion that your life follows a fixed, inevitable course. On the other hand, destiny refers to the notion that you came into this world, this dimension, to fulfill specific experiences and achievements. You, and only you, make the choice of your path in life. You can choose to pursue your destiny or you can choose not to pursue your destiny.

Make no mistake about it. You are the one to manifest your destiny, whatever it may be. You choose to make use of your skills and abilities to accomplish your destiny. Or you can use your skills and abilities pursuing that which lies outside of your true destiny.

From personal experience, I can tell you this. There is no diversion or activity on your part that you could possibly spend your life on that even comes close to bringing you the fulfillment and inner joy that you feel manifesting your life’s destiny. Dear reader, do you understand? Your true destiny is the only reason that you are here.

Be Still And Listen

So how do you discern what your true destiny is? Be still and listen. Listen closely to what Emmet Fox called the Presence of God. Just shut the eff up. Go within to the Kingdom of God. Ask for guidance, then just listen. If you are sincere about really desiring to understand what your true destiny is, you will most assuredly be guided to it. It will be as if there is a universal magnet inexorably drawing you to your unique destiny. A destiny that is meant for you and you alone. You will then feel and believe that your life is worthwhile because you are doing what it is you were always meant to do. When you discern your true destiny, you will know. At that juncture in your life, you will feel as if you are asleep each day unless you are taking some small step (however small it may be) in the direction of fulfilling your destiny.

Ditch The Fake You

At Halloween and at masquerade parties, masks can be fun to wear as you portray this, that or the other as part of the playful respite from the workaday routine. One of the saddest and most tragic happenstances of human society is never taking the masks off as you live your life. You may choose to wear different masks all throughout your lifetime here. Wear this mask for this person or group. Wear that mask for that person or group. Why? To be liked. To be loved. To get ahead. To get money. To manipulate others. To feel secure. To assuage your fears. There are literally dozens of reasons why masks are worn. And it is so very unnecessary. Go within to the Kingdom of God within you, to the true you.

To manifest your life as you desire it to be, take off the damn masks. Center yourself. Practice focusing on the Presence of God. Continuing to wear the masks will only result in you being held back from your true destiny. Eliminate the masks. Once you ditch the fake you, something beautiful will begin to happen. You will begin to experience the beauty and joy of true freedom. Once you begin to live in the freedom of the Kingdom of God, you will never go back. You will look back, shake your head, and think “Why did I waste any part of my precious life wearing masks?”

Your Very Last Day Of Life

When your very last day of life comes, as it must for all of us, you will ask yourself two questions. As you lay in your hospital bed or perhaps in hospice care or wherever that event takes place, you will ask yourself – What was your true destiny? Did you achieve your destiny?

It does not take a great deal of imagination to picture your inner disappointment if your answers to those two questions are poor. My wish for you (and myself) is to avoid suffering that inner disappointment, both as you lay dying as well as later during your life review in the next realm. On that very last day it will then be too late to do anything more. Too late to fulfill why you were born and why you lived. The time to work on those two questions is right now.

Use What You Have, Wherever You Are

To manifest your reality is part and parcel of fulfilling your destiny as a child of God. Use what you have, wherever you happen to be. Believe. Believe as the penniless widow did in the biblical book of Second Kings. God’s prophet Elisha told the widow, who was buried deeply in debt, to borrow as many vessels (large jars) as she possibly could. She was told to put the vessels around her and shut the door of her house. (Big symbolism there). As instructed, she then took the small amount of olive oil that she had in the house and began pouring it into the first vessel. She kept pouring and pouring until every one of the multitude of vessels were filled to the brim with olive oil. She then sold the oil, paid all her debts and had enough funds left over from the sale of the oil to live on.

A Rather Big Manifestation

Recently I was working on a rather big manifestation. It was something that I was persevering with for a considerable amount of time. It had a number of moving parts to it. While being close to its realization, I asked Divine Intelligence for guidance to “get over the hump” so to speak. The Holy Spirit instructed me to proceed along a certain avenue. It was a path that I definitely would not have taken if left to my own devices, because of my own personal preference. There was nothing intrinsically wrong with that particular avenue. I just wanted the manifestation to come about in a different way. With manifestations however, you must have an open mind and an unclenched heart. Understand that you may receive your desire via a totally unexpected route. I finally relented (I am a stubborn SOB at times) and followed the guidance of the Holy Spirit of God. The result: the manifestation was fully realized with a few synchronicities thrown in for good measure.

Conceive. Believe. Receive.

Free Yourself From The Man Behind The Curtain

The Wizard of Oz

According to the United States Library of Congress, the film, “The Wizard Of Oz”, is the most watched film in movie history. It has become an iconic film. Almost everyone knows the story of Dorothy, her dog Toto, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion. And of course, the man behind the curtain, the Wizard of Oz. If you don’t know the story, I cordially invite you to watch the movie. It is delightful. To be concise, I will skip directly to the part of the movie that I wish to discuss.

Dorothy and her companions are successful in obtaining the broomstick of the Wicked Witch. The leader of Emerald City, the Wizard of Oz, had made that a condition of granting the individual wishes of all four. The Wizard resided in an emerald palace. All that was seen of him was a large ghastly face. He spoke in a booming voice. When he spoke, his voice was accompanied by thunder, smoke and fire. It was very impressive and intimidating, inspiring fear in those who heard and saw him.

As Dorothy and companions present the broomstick to the Wizard, in his booming intimidating voice, he brusquely orders them to go away and come back tomorrow. As he is talking, Dorothy’s dog runs over to a curtain that covers a booth. With his teeth, the dog pulls open the curtain. This reveals a man with gray hair, about seventy years old or so, pulling levers and switches and talking into a microphone. The voice of the Wizard tells them to “pay no attention to the man behind the curtain”. But the facade has already been torn down. The truth has been exposed. There is no wizard. There is only an elderly gent who was able to fool everybody through crafty subterfuge.

At the end of the movie, it is shown that the things that the four of them desired was already within them. The Wizard turned out to just be another Bernie Madoff.

The Wizards Of This World

In this world that you live in, there are plenty of wizards that have nothing better to do but to control every facet of your life. The control starts as soon as you are born. Yes, your very first controllers are your parents and relatives. That may seem a harsh statement. It really isn’t. They are, of course, the most loving of your controllers. Your lack of ability to care for yourself mandates that they exercise control in order to keep you safe and help you to learn while you grow up to adulthood.

The problem arises with parents who are carrying around their own unresolved issues. The effect of these issues may act to the detriment of the child. It is unnecessary to dwell upon the various errors that parents may make. When parents, either consciously or unconsciously, exercise this type of negative control over a child, it acts as an obstacle to the child developing fully in the joy and beauty of the Kingdom of God within.

Later, come the other wizard controllers – teachers, schoolmates, co-workers, employers, friends, doctors, churches, government leaders and those authorized by said government to protect you, and all forms of mass media, including social media and the internet. To differing degrees, they are all wizard controllers, figuratively directing you to retrieve the wicked witch’s broomstick before you can fulfill your dreams and wishes.

The Mega Billionaires

At the top of the “human controller pyramid” are the mega billionaires. They are the one tenth of one percent of the world’s population that control corporations and the world economy.

Money is a necessary tool of a civilized society. It is used as a uniform means of trade. Money itself is neither good or evil. It is neutral. It is relentlessly used however, for the purpose of control over your life.

Take the case of one particularly nefarious mega billionaire. He cunningly masquerades as a philanthropist while attempting to create a stranglehold on the food seed bank of the world. He holds patents on GMO food seed and constantly touts the benefits of GMO food for humanity while purchasing massive tracts of farmland. It is a classic example of a massive scam. It is a blatant push for greater and greater control over human beings through controlling food supply. Meanwhile, he is hiding “behind the curtain” telling everybody ” I want to help you”.

The mega billionaires use their vast amounts of money to control others to do their bidding (see my blog post of April 15, 2021 regarding the “barbeque speech” of Huey Long). The mega billionaires understand the power of money. Do this and I will give you money to buy stuff. Don’t do what I want you to do and I will take away your money. Unfortunately, the need or desire for money (what money can buy) can lead humans down a hundred and one wrong roads. Roads that travel away from the Kingdom of God.

They Live

Have you ever watched the 1988 film, “They Live”? It is a science fiction horror film written and directed by John Carpenter. And yes, it portrays a world where “human controllers” are everywhere. They have successfully fooled the overwhelming majority of the earth’s population into following the agenda of the controllers.

The film stars Roddy Piper, Keith David and Meg Foster. It has an incredible five and a half minute fight scene between Piper and David. The fight is reminiscent of the classic fight scene between John Wayne and Victor McLaglen in the film “The Quiet Man”. It also features a cult classic quote from Roddy Piper as he brandishes a shotgun at some aliens – “I’ve come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass, and I’m all out of bubblegum”. Watch the film if you get the chance. “They Live” is an entertaining movie with a valuable message.

Here is a quick and dirty synopsis of the film. It has been discovered by “resisters” that signals are sent out through television waves (today it would be cell phone signals). These broadcasts have hypnotised most of the population, keeping them in a subservient, dream-like state. After a resisters group has been raided and destroyed by police, Roddy Piper finds amid the wreckage of the raid, a box of sunglasses. Upon trying on a pair, he is shocked to observe that there are subliminal messages everywhere, directing people to consume, reproduce and conform. These sunglasses also reveal the true faces of the many aliens who now co-mingle with human beings.

At the end part of the film, Piper and two others are successful in infiltrating the main broadcast nerve center of the aliens. They discover a large meeting taking place of the aliens and their human collaborators. They are celebrating another year of control and the successful raid on the resister group. With great difficulty, Piper destroys the main broadcast transmitter. He is killed by guards but not before giving them the finger before he dies. The destruction of the transmitter frees humanity from its controlled state. Humans now have the ability to see all the aliens among them.

In, But Not Of

Jesus Christ stated that those who live in the Kingdom of God within, are in the world but not of the world. Those who have chosen to go within and live in the Kingdom of God are not influenced by the controllers, the man behind the curtain. These souls of course live in the world, eating, working, interacting with others, avoiding crazy drivers on the road, etc. However, they are influenced and controlled by Divine Guidance, coming from the Kingdom of God within. That, and that alone, is their true “North Star”.

The so-called leaders of society, and all facets of mass media and consumerism are not part of who these souls are. Nor is it part of their thoughts, their words, their actions, their beliefs. The Kingdom of God is impenetrable to all the manipulations of the world’s controllers. You are safe within the fortress of the Kingdom of God. The freedom of God is your freedom.

Tell The Controllers To “F**k Off”

The time has now come for every person under the sway of the controllers. The time has come for you to tell the controllers of the world to “f**k off”. You can probably come up with several reasons why you can’t do this. “I have a family to support”. “I need this diploma so I can get a good job”. My spouse will divorce me”. “My kids/friends/relatives will hate me”. “I need the health insurance for my condition”. Everyone will think I am nuts”. “The police will arrest me”. “I need food and a place to live”. And so on.

That is where the man behind the curtain has you by your figurative cajones. Fear. The controllers have used fear for centuries. It keeps people “in line” and under control. Technology is moving forward at exponential speed. The full intention of the controllers is to use the power of fear, coupled with technology, to coerce you to switch from voluntary servitude to involuntary servitude in perpetuity. They will do this under the guise of “helping and protecting you”.

You have the full freedom to choose. Fear or Love. Those are your two choices. Fear or Love. Fear is error. Love is truth. You succumb to fear in order to be safe but the only true safety is in love, which emanates from the Kingdom of God within. Yes, I know, it is hard. But following the Divine Way is the only way to cross the dark chasm and expose the man behind the curtain.

You CAN Do It, But………

In the film, “The Wizard of Oz”, when the Wizard attempted to intimidate Dorothy and her companions to go away, it took Dorothy’s dog to unmask the phoniness of the Wizard’s omnipotence. Just as the dog used God-given animal instinct to reveal the true nature of the Wizard, so you must use your God-given intuition and guidance to discern the true motives of the “one percent” to control you, heart and soul, from birth to death.

You may say, ” Yeah, yeah, yeah, I heard all that stuff before. You just don’t get it. I got six things in my face all at the same time. Things are going on with me. Things are going on with my kids, my spouse. I’m being squeezed, man”.

You CAN follow the very best path, regardless of anything, despite everything, BUT you have to earnestly ask Divine Intelligence to guide you. Read this from the Old Testament from the book of Jeremiah of what your Creator says, “You will seek me and you will find me when you seek me with all of your heart.”

If you honestly desire to understand how to live in freedom and manifest all manner of good things in your life, you can. Seek the Divine within you with all your heart, all your mind, all your soul. As St. Augustine said, “If you really want to see God, you have the means to do so”.

Conscious Manifesting

Every human being that has a mind capable of thinking a thought, engages in manifesting. There are two distinct methods of manifesting things in your life. The first way is by far the most common. It is unconsciously manifesting. Drawing things to you or pushing things away from you without ever perceiving that you are doing so. The second type of manifesting is conscious manifesting. This is when you consciously discipline yourself to focus on the Presence of God and with steadfast belief, live as if the desire is fulfilled.

Both types of manifesting use the same basic ingredients in the creation of outer circumstances. These ingredients are: (1) your thoughts, (2) your words, (3) your actions, (4) your feelings, and (5) your inner beliefs. The difference between the two types, unconscious and conscious, is control. In unconscious manifesting, your circumstances, thoughts, words, and beliefs control you. If you think fear-based thoughts, speak fear-based words, and believe fear-based ideas, then fear-based circumstances will follow, as the night follows the day.

If you make the conscious decision to exercise control over what you think, say and believe, and allow God-based thoughts, words, and beliefs be the focus of your life, no matter what, then, equivalent circumstances will ultimately follow. Going back and forth between love and fear is a classic recipe for frustration. Belief – belief that “it is done, it is complete” – is the gourmet sauce that turns the filet of fish into a gastronomical masterpiece. It is the real deal that guides all your conscious manifesting. It keeps you out of the clutches of the man behind the curtain.

Conceive. Believe. Receive.

God Is Out Playing Golf

A Passage In A Book

I first read this passage in a book over thirty years ago. At the time, the words made an impression on me. They have continued to stick with me through the years. Unconventional words about God for sure. And yet, while not really understanding the passage at the time, I felt that the words were indicative of an inner truth.

The passage was in a book written in 1988 by an author named Stuart Wilde. Here is the passage I am referring to – “Universal Law is impartial. It will give you anything that you believe. It will throw you garbage or roses depending on the energy that you put in. You are the one in charge and you must accept that and stand alone. If you think God is coming down to fix things for you, forget it. God is out playing golf.”

You may be familiar with the image of the painting by Michelangelo on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel at the Vatican. It is the one titled “The Creation of Man”. In it, God is portrayed as an older gent in a robe with white hair and a long white beard. He is reaching out and his finger is touching Adam’s finger.

I believe the passage in the book does not presume to see Michelangelo’s image of God wearing Dockers, a polo shirt and golf shoes. The passage of course is a metaphor.

The Heavenly Switchboard

Let’s play with the passage and conjure up an imaginary scene. The heavenly switchboard is especially busy with urgent calls for help coming in from all over the globe. Inhabitants of the earth are dialing up hundreds of millions, even perhaps billions of calls to God through prayer. They are pleading with God to come down and make a service call.

Someone is in ill health. A person just got fired from their job. The toilet keeps backing up. And every other possible type of adversity that you can imagine. The receptionists keep saying the same thing – “God is not in the office today. He is out on the golf course.” Eventually, totally frazzled, the head receptionist calls God on his cell phone. The receptionist tells God “The calls are coming in especially heavy today. Do you think maybe you should come in to the office?”

Gods answers, ” Why do they refuse to listen to the words of Jesus? He has already told them in plain English that the Kingdom of God is within them. My prophet Joshua could not have made it any clearer when he told them that the Lord your God is with you wherever you are. I have created the humans of the earth in a manner that allows them to connect with me at any time, wherever they are, by going within. I am with them always. And yet they still continue to look outward for rescue. Oh well, I am patient. They will eventually learn. OK, I have to go now. I still have another nine holes to go.”

He Said What?

Where should you immediately go when you encounter any type of trouble? To God, of course. But where is God? He is within you. Listen to verses 20 and 21 from the gospel of Luke, chapter 17:

And having been asked by the Pharisees when the Kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, ” The Kingdom will not come with observable signs, nor will they say ‘Behold here or Behold there’ for behold the Kingdom of God is within you”.

I have used the Bible translation known as the Literal Standard Version. It is the most literal translation of the Holy Bible. It provides significant improvement over previous literal translations. The Literal Standard Version uses as a textual basis the Masoretic Text, the Septuagint, the Dead Sea Scrolls, Textus Receptus, Majority Text and other New Testament manuscripts.

I have observed clergymen take Luke 17:20-21 and state “Oh Jesus did not really mean what he said. He actually meant …………”. Then they give their own spin that matches up with their church denomination stance. Really?? The words sound very clear to me.

Step On In

When you are engaged in a process of conscious manifestation praying, be aware of everything going on around you. Stay alert. Pay attention. Spend every day, as much as your state of consciousness will allow, experiencing the Presence of God. Stay focused on God but walk with an open mind. God may elect to bring you the object of your desire in a way that you are totally not expecting. And when that door of opportunity opens up specifically for you, for crying out loud, don’t just stand there, step on in. The parable, Two Boats and A Helicopter, serves nicely to illustrate this.

A storm descends rapidly upon a small town. The torrential downpour soon turns into a full scale flood. The local clergyman kneels in fervent prayer in the church vestibule. A few townspeople come up to the church in a rowboat. Knowing the preacher is inside, they shout “Better get in our boat now Preacher, the flood waters just keep rising”

“No, I have full faith in the Lord. He will save me.”

The flood waters do continue to rise. They force the clergyman up into the church choir loft which has a big window. A man zips up the the window in a motorboat. “Come on out Pastor. You need to get out now! Things just keep getting worse”.

Once again, the clergyman stands his ground stating, “I trust the Lord. He will save me.”

Sure enough, the levee breaks. The flood waters continue to rise to the point where only the church steeple is above water. The clergyman has moved to the steeple and is clinging to the cross.

A helicopter descends from the clouds. A state trooper lets down a rope ladder. By bullhorn he urges the clergyman to climb on the ladder.

Once again, in full faith, the clergyman stands fast, insisting the the Lord will save him.

Ultimately, the clergyman drowns.

Being a truly pious man, the clergyman goes to Heaven. He ultimately gets an interview with God. He plaintively asks, “Why God, why? Why didn’t you save me from the flood?”

God gives a deep sigh and says, “What did you want from me? I sent you two boats and a helicopter!”

Where Do You Live ?

Where are you living these days? I do not mean a geographic location such as a town or a street. I don’t care about that. I mean where are you living deep down inside yourself. Are you spending any of your limited time on the planet living within the Kingdom of God? If yes, good. Very good. Just keep doing that (as if I had to tell you). If no, honestly ask yourself, why not? Do not be in a rush to answer that question. A snap answer will not serve you well. After you have answered that question, then stop for a moment. Center yourself into a totally relaxed state of quiet stillness. Then ask again with laser penetration. Peel back all the layers of societal conditioning and get to the heart of the matter.

As I have said to you many times within this blog, consciously manifesting your desired reality requires work on your part. The disciplining of your thoughts. It is necessary for you to make thought work for you instead of you allowing your thoughts to “run the show”. Drop the chains restricting your beliefs. Once your mind forms the vision of your desire, believe that vision is real. Not real in some future time but real right now. Make your home within the Kingdom of God. If you do this, your mind will open up like the petals of a flower. Indeed, your mind will get out the way to allow Ultimate Intelligence to reach you. You will understand the eternal laws at play in conscious manifestation. I am sorry that I am not able to better explain it. You will just have to experience it for yourself.

The concept is simple. Conceive. Believe. Receive. The work you will have to put in is real. But so are the beautiful rewards. Just let go. Let God’s thoughts be your thoughts. Be subsumed by the Presence of God. Lose your outer constructed self in order to discover your true self. You will discover with delight that your true self fits you perfectly like a custom tailored suit.

The Young Pope

Did you ever watch an HBO TV series called “The Young Pope”? I have never watched a full episode but have viewed several clips on You Tube. Briefly, the premise of the series revolves around the installation of a young Pope (an American) played by the actor, Jude Law.

One of those scenes that I have viewed involves the Pope having a conversation with a female Vatican official. She is the Curator of the Image of the Holy Father. She explains to the new Pope that it is necessary to have a photo session to record his image for papal merchandise sold by the Vatican. Merchandise with the image of the Holy Father such as coffee mugs, postcards, key chains, framed prints and posters, t-shirts and commemorative plates. The curator goes on to explain that there will be two types of plates. The first will be mass produced and sell for five euros. The second will be hand crafted and will sell for forty-five euros.

Upon hearing this, the Pope excuses himself and briefly leaves the room. When he returns he is holding a white dinner plate. As he stands in front of the curator, the conversation goes as follows:

Young Pope: Do you see this plate m’am? (Note: He is holding a plain white dinner plate).

Curator: Yes, of course Holy Father, I see it.

Young Pope: This is the type of merchandise I am prepared to authorize.

Curator: But it doesn’t have your image on it.

Young Pope: I do not have an image my good lady because I am no one. You understand? No one. Only Christ exists. Only Christ. And I am not worth 45 euros or even 5 euros. I am worth nothing.

Where is your true focus? On the world or on the Divine within you. With the former, circumstances create you. With the latter, you create circumstances.

Josh Nailed It

The Presence of God, the source of your power to manifest, is with you always, everywhere that you happen to be. From the first breath of your life unto your last. It is up to you however, to recognize that truth and live in it.

In the Old Testament of the Bible, one of my favorite verses to meditate on is in the book of Joshua. The prophet Joshua understood the truth. Read and absorb the full meaning of this sublime verse, Chapter 1, Verse 9:

Be strong and courageous.

Do not be afraid. Do not be discouraged.

The Lord your God, will be with you wherever you go.

Wherever you go. The love of God, the peace, the power, the truth, the joy, the presence – wherever you go.

I am sitting in a Starbucks writing this at a table that is against the wall. Reflecting on the full implications of this verse is causing me right now to well up inside. I must turn my head towards the wall so that I am not observed silently crying in joy.

Josh nailed it. He understood completely. BE strength. BE courage. The Kingdom of God is within you. Be free of all your fears. You really can, you know, if you so desire. There is no earthly experience of any type that you will ever experience that will give you the feeling of living in the Kingdom of God.

Three

In this blog, I have given you several “recipes” to manifest your desire. These “recipes” are actually techniques of prayer. After forming the vision of your desire, the prayer technique that you choose is the first step in the process.

The second step is to develop the creative mindset. Imaginative belief. What the Bible calls faith. In your mind, claim your prayers as answered, regardless of any and all circumstances. They do not matter. It is called “living in the end”. You are living in the world but your faith is not of the world. It comes from the Kingdom of God. Your continued faith is the rock solid evidence that you have what you hope for. Your faith is your true reality.

The third step in manifesting is to receive with gratitude. When your faith, your belief, has gotten you to the point, where in your mind you have received your desire, when you are “living in the end”, then, rejoice, be thankful. Feel gratitude. Relief and gratitude because your manifestation is complete. It is you know. It just takes physical reality some time to sync up with your inner belief.

Go forth. Be God’s agent here on earth. Manifest all manner of good things. Why do you think God blessed humanity with that power? To not use it?? Certainly not. Go forth. Manifest with joy as you live in the Kingdom of God within.

The Downfall Of The Empirical Mind

The Rise Of Empirical Mind

The 1600’s brought us the rise of the empirical mind with the Scientific Revolution led by Isaac Newton, Francis Bacon and John Locke, among others. Next, the 1700’s led us into what is termed the Age of Enlightenment. This era of history was led by such people as Voltaire, Benjamin Franklin, Johann Goethe, Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, Immanuel Kant, Rene Descartes, Antoine Lavoisier, Thomas Hobbes and Baron de Montesquieu.

The above two eras were a general progression from the effects of the Renaissance Era (1300’s to 1600’s). The Renaissance (literally Rebirth) led the Western world out of the stagnation of the Middle Ages. The Scientific Revolution and the Age of Enlightenment were both highlighted by the pursuit of knowledge obtained by means of reason and the evidence of the five senses.

The Scientific Method

In the above noted eras of the 1600’s and 1700’s, a series of events took place marking the emergence of modern science. As a result of developments in mathematics, physics, astronomy, biology, anatomy, metallurgy and chemistry, the viewpoint of society moved toward empiricism. Then, in the 1800’s, this viewpoint culminated in the formation of what is known as the scientific method.

The scientific method is an observation-based process. To illustrate, the general structure of the scientific method is: (1) form a general question about something; (2) research the topic; (3) establish a hypothesis (a tentative conclusion using limited information); (4) experiment to gain more data; (5) analyze the data from your experiments; and (6) make a conclusion based on all observations.

In brief, empiricism has become the predominant worldview in today’s world. Empiricism is the conclusion that all knowledge is derived from sense experience. Accordingly, the empirical mind is the idea that everything that mankind knows to be true, comes from logic, experience and observations. If it is unseen, it is untrue.

C’mon, Let’s Be Logical About This

Have you ever heard anyone say, to you “C’mon, let’s be logical about this” or something similar to that? What they are saying to you is that what you are saying or proposing just does not make logical sense. When someone says that, they mean that what you are saying does not match up with the world’s reality. You may hear the words, “face the facts, things just don’t happen that way”.

They are operating in the empirical world. If the eyes do not see it (even with microscopes or telescopes), if the ears do not hear it, if it cannot be felt, then it ain’t there. Human logic is a way of thinking about something that seems correct and reasonable. Accordingly, a logical conclusion is always based on the existence of documentable proven facts.

Right Side – Left Side – Teamwork

The left side (or hemisphere) of your brain handles reading, writing and calculations. It is usually referred to as the logical side of the brain. Language, logic, critical thinking, numbers, reasoning all emanate from the left side of your brain.

Conversely, the right side (or hemisphere) of your brain deals more in images and processes in an intuitive manner. Some of the abilities of the right side are: imagination, expressing of emotions, intuition and creative arts.

Today neuroscientists know that the two sides of the brain work together to perform a wide variety of tasks. The two hemispheres communicate with each other through a structure called the corpus callosum. Each hemisphere has its unique specialties. Nevertheless, they have an intimate and collaborative working relationship with each other. And so it is in the world of manifesting. Your vision and your imaginative belief work together to manifest your desire.

A Truly Remarkable Woman

One of the most remarkable human beings of the twentieth century was the woman named Helen Keller. She lived from 1880 to 1962. Keller was an American author as well as a tireless advocate for those afflicted with blindness. In addition, she was a political activist and a well-travelled lecturer.

At 19 months of age, she contracted an unknown illness, possibly meningitis. This illness left Keller blind, deaf and unable to speak. The trifecta of tragedy. As a last chance before institutionalizing her, her parents hired a woman named Anne Sullivan to be her personal one-on-one instructor.

To make a long story short, under Sullivan’s tutelage, Keller would go on to successfully deal in a magnificent way with what life dealt her. She was the first person with combination blindness and deafness to earn a college degree from Radcliffe College of Harvard University in 1904. Furthermore, she wrote 14 books as well as numerous magazine articles. Along the way, Keller learned how to speak She was a prolific lecturer, travelling to 35 countries during the course of her life.

Helen Keller Was Blind – Her Vision Was Great

Helen Keller was blind but she had great vision. Inner vision. She understood that the Kingdom of God was within. Here are her words. “I know life is given to us so that we may grow in love. I believe that God is in me as the sun is in the color and fragrance of the flower, the Light in my darkness, the Voice in my silence”.

Jesus Christ clearly stated, “the Kingdom of God is within”. Helen Keller understood. She got it. Living within the Kingdom of God, she understood the words of Martin Luther King Jr. “love is the greatest force in the universe. It is the heartbeat of the moral cosmos. He who loves is a participant in the being of God”.

The Downfall Of The Empirical Mind

Your empirical mind looks at known causes and effects. Then it makes logical conclusions for the outcome of your action. Thus, it is a wonderful way to eliminate superstition, uncertainty or fear about an outcome. The “because it has always been done this way” argument for an action becomes obsolete. The “because fearless leader says to do it that way” becomes invalid if you know through empiricism that it is wrong. Logical empiricism is a beautiful thing. It has allowed the world to rid itself of many different “chains around the brain”. With that said however, the ultimate downfall of the empirical mind is its neglect of the spiritual underbelly of reality – imaginative belief. Faith.

The Courage To Go Beyond Logic

Conscious manifesting throughout your life has two distinct parts. First, in conscious manifesting, you have the prayer. It is the technique or method that you employ to manifest your desire. All the practical manifesting techniques that I have offered you in various articles in this blog are simply different forms of prayer.

Next, the second part in conscious manifesting, is the belief part. It is the illogical, nonempirical part. Develop a mindset of believing that your desire is real right now. It is called “living in the end”. What you wish to manifest is not in your future, but is with you right now. That part is the really hard part. To proceed beyond logic, beyond the empirical mind, takes courage. That is active faith. It is using the power of the Kingdom of God. It is what the Bible talks about when it calls faith the evidence of things unseen.

The Power Marriage

To empirically engage in a logical progression of actions is how you usually go about attempting to satisfy your desires. Conversely, prayer usually winds up being a begging or pleading with God to bring the specific desire to you. Consequently, this begging type of praying only serves to magnify the feeling within you that you do not already have what you desire.

Many solely use the empirical mind (the brain’s left hemisphere) to attempt to manifest their desires. It is a way of manifesting that is fraught with problems. You are attempting to break through a wall using your head as a battering ram. You may get through but boy, will your head hurt. Use the imagination part of your mind to formulate a crystal clear image of what you desire. Then preside over the ultimate power marriage. Marry your clear vision to the power of your faith – the power of imaginative belief. Live in the end.

Ask. Seek. Knock.

So how the hell do you get belief? How in the “real world” do you get faith when your problems are right in your face? As always, the answer is in the Bible. Ask. Seek. Knock. Then expect. Live in the end. Expect what you ask for to be revealed to you. Be alert when it is. Trust that what you seek will be shown to you. Be observant when it is. Finally, when the door of opportunity is opened for you, step on in.

Live within the Kingdom of God by practicing the Presence of God. Do this regardless of any and all outer negative circumstances. Circumstances do not matter, only state of being matters. Get Really Powerful With Constant Surveillance

1984

One of the most bone chilling books that was ever written was the novel, 1984, by English author, George Orwell. Written in 1949, the events of the book take place in a dystopian future Great Britain in the year 1984. In this suffocating totalitarian world, the societal controllers mercilessly control the population. Every facet of a person’s existence is under surveillance. This is done through a variety of methods.

One method of control is through a relentless system of closed circuit television (CCTV) surveillance. Every room of every building has a CCTV camera that is monitored by the controllers. Every word is monitored. All actions that a person takes is observed by cameras. Where I used to work we had cameras watching everybody. The joke was that one day as you finish with your business in a men’s room stall, you’ll hear a loudspeaker say, “Hey there, you’re using too much toilet paper!”

In the book 1984, all individuals must follow the prescribed ways of the controllers in every way. At home, at work, at play. Those individuals who are observed to rebel against the established order are “dealt with” by the controllers. And not in a good way. And don’t ever get sent to Room 101. Those who come out of Room 101 never, ever rebel again.

In the world of 1984, you are under surveillance twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, fifty two weeks a year, until you die. One could very well say that living a life like that is already death.

So why all the surveillance cameras in this nightmare world of 1984? One word answer – control. If the government controllers see something that they do not like, they take immediate action to change it. Through constant surveillance they control the population.

Surveillance Cameras Are Everywhere

What does the term surveillance actually mean? Wikipedia describes surveillance as “the monitoring of behavior, activities or information for the purpose of intelligence gathering, influencing, managing or directing”. Probably the most common method of surveillance is the use of CCTV cameras. Other methods include the use of satellite imagery, wiretapping, intercepting internet traffic, postal intercepts, drones and old fashioned observation by a human.

The latest figures on the proliferation of surveillance cameras reveal that an estimated one billion such cameras are in place in 2022. Fifty percent of those are employed in China. That is one camera for every eight people in the word. The numbers are exponentially increasing. By 2030, experts estimate an astounding thirteen billion surveillance cameras will be in place. That will be one and a half surveillance cameras for every human being on the planet!

What are the reasons for the exponential increase in the use of surveillance cameras? The number one reason provided by the installers of the cameras is: security. It may be to identify suspicious persons around sensitive government facilities. Cities and states place surveillance cameras in public places in an effort to reduce crime. Private businesses, such as banks, use surveillance cameras to deter would be robbers. The local liquor store even has surveillance cameras everywhere, both inside and outside the store. They even have one watching the dumpster out back (Sorry fella, no dumpster diving at our dumpster).

The basic reason for the placement of surveillance cameras anywhere is to watch. To watch for anything that is not right and then to respond to said situation promptly and effectively.

King Solomon Advocated Constant Surveillance

King Solomon was a king of ancient Israel. He ruled Israel some three thousand years ago. Solomon is primarily remembered for two things: wisdom and wealth. He wrote the book of Proverbs. Proverbs is a book in the third section (Ketuvim) of the Hebrew Bible. It is also included in the Christian Old Testament. Within the Book of Proverbs is the verse Proverbs 4:23. This verse highlights the urgency for a person to have constant surveillance of the thoughts of their mind.

There are many translations of Proverbs 4:23. The first reference is the translation from the Ketuvim. This comes from the website Sefaria. The verse is as follows: “More than all that you guard, guard your mind. For it is the source of life”.

Another translation of the verse comes from the translator, A Faithful Version. This is a translation that is faithful to the true meaning of the original Hebrew and Greek. It emphasizes word for word accuracy. This translation is as follows: “Above all, guard the door of your mind with diligence, for out of it are the issues of life”.

With Proverbs 4:23, Solomon was explaining that the Kingdom of God is within you. Everything in your life starts with the thoughts of your mind. Everything. The thoughts of your mind that you cling to, lead to how you feel inside. How you feel leads to your inner beliefs. Your inner beliefs then create the outer circumstances of your life.

Solomon knew. He is warning you to pay attention. Be aware of the thoughts that enter your mind. All day. Every day. Regret, fear, doubt, resentment. Every manner of self-harming thought must not be allowed to linger. If you allow them to take up residence, it will ultimately result in something nasty in outer circumstances of your life.

Thoughts Are Things

Thoughts are things. By themselves however, they manifest nothing. Thoughts require imaginative belief. The addition of imaginative belief allows thoughts to flower into reality. Thoughts. Feelings. Beliefs. Reality.

Take the example of you receiving a new car. A thought about a new car is simply that – a thought about a new car. For the thought to conceive, it must be married. There must be an accompanying spiritual sensation.

You have a thought about owning a new car. Or you have a thought that you are never going to be able to get a new car. The choice of which thought you nurture is yours.

If you choose the first thought, then begin the imaginative process. Actually feel the seat under your buttocks as you start the car. Smell the aroma of the new car. Feel the handling of the new car as you drive it. Admire the texture and color of the exterior. Marvel at all the features in the interior of the car. Listen to the dynamite sound system of the car. Hear the passenger in the car rave about how much they like the car.

Feel your gratitude that you now have a beautiful car to drive for many years. You have a car that meets all your needs. You have a car that in your old way of thinking you could not see any way that you would ever get it. And now it is yours. Damn, even I am getting excited and thankful just writing about it.

Do not concern yourself as to how it will come about. Just go to the end result. Stay in the end result. Things will happen to ultimately to bring about your desired reality, if you are faithful. Keep your thoughts and feelings and belief in the end result.

Over 6,000 A Day

A 2020 research study took place at The Center For Neuroscience Studies, Ontario, Canada. The study authors used brain imaging scans to track when a new thought began in each study participant.

The participants were asked to watch movies. Transitions between events in movies are known to trigger what’s called “thought worms”. These are patterns of brain activity identifying when thoughts come and go in your brain.

The researchers were able to distinguish that the average participant had over 6,000 thoughts per day. The study itself is available online. The title is: “Brain Meta-State Transitions Demarcating Thoughts Across Task Contexts Exposing The Mental Noise Of Trait Neuroticism”.

You think a lot of thoughts every day. Thoughts come. Thoughts go. Be careful which ones you let hang around. Practice Daily Surveillance. Whichever thoughts you allow to take root will subsequently create an accompanying feeling within you. Starve the thoughts that cause havoc. Feed the thoughts leading you unto success. Success is defined as “the achievement of desired results”. For example, “The Kingdom of God is within me. I am an expression of success in every aspect of my life”. Feels good, doesn’t it? When you irrevocably believe it, it feels ever so much better. Guard your thoughts.

A Fateful Chain Reaction

Look again at that last line from the Proverbs verse. The first translation is: “For it is the source of life”. The second translation has: “for out of it are the issues of life”.

Many translations interpose the word mind with the word heart (“guard your heart”). What the heart is, originates in the mind. An actual human heart just pumps blood. What is meant by heart is those thoughts of the mind that lead to feeling (loving thoughts, hateful thoughts, etc.). Feelings then lead to beliefs. Beliefs then lead to you living a life that reflects back to you your beliefs.

What Solomon is saying is that every facet, every aspect, every issuance of your life springs forth from your mind. Once you allow a thought to take hold, the fateful chain reaction begins. When an atom is split, there is a fateful chain reaction. The reaction culminates in either the creation of peaceful energy (nuclear power) or tsunami-like destruction (nuclear bomb). Thus it is with you, my friend. Thus it is with your life. Thought. Thought acceptance and retention (through your free will). Feeling and emotion brought forth as a result of your thought. Thought and feeling culminate in belief. Once the belief is fully rooted, it is ultimately manifested in your outer circumstances. A fateful chain reaction.

A Full Time Job With Zero Days Off

An employer offering a seven day a week full time job with zero days off. Sounds pretty lame, doesn’t it? In your job of guarding your thoughts however, the rewards to you will be beautiful. Well worth your effort. When you are relentless in ignoring detrimental thoughts, they will atrophy and die. If you can’t seem to ignore it, then substitute it with a thought that is beneficial to you. Think about God.

Just like the Chevy Corvette, there is just room for two in your mind – You as the driver and whatever thought you elect to sit next to you. You choose who you want to sit in the Corvette of your mind – empowering thought or disabling thought. It’s your choice. It always has been.

“Above all, guard the door of your mind with diligence, for out of it are the issues of life”.

“More than all that you guard, guard your mind. For it is the source of life”.

Every minute. Every hour. Every day. Every week. Every month. Every year. Every year of your life until your breathe your last breath. Live Proverbs 4: 23. If you choose to do this, you will be delighted with the events that take place in your life. As many times as you fall down along the way, just get up, and then keep on walking in the powerful wisdom of Proverbs 4:23.

Time – If I Knew Then, What I Know Now

I Could Have Had A V8

Are you old enough to remember the old V8 commercials on tv? The commercials that I refer to are the ones that had different people saying “I could have had a V8”. They frequently were on television during the time of the 1970’s and 1980’s.

V8 is a drink produced by the Campbell Soup Company. It is primarily tomato juice, but it also has 8 other vegetables in it, hence the name V8. The commercial was so ubiquitous at the time that the phrase was coined of someone “having a V8 moment”.

A Healthy Alternative

The basic premise of the commercial was to sell V8 as a healthy alternative to soda or other sweet drinks or snacks. I will walk you through one of the commercials. As the commercial begins you see a young guy with a can of soda in his hand. After a few seconds, he stops as if thinking of something. Then a picture of a large can of V8 flashes up on the screen. Then back to the guy who gives himself a palm slap on the forehead. At the same time, he says out loud, “I could have had a V8”!

The next scene shows a woman stuffing a cupcake down her gullet. Likewise, the picture of the large can of V8 is flashed on the screen. Then back to the woman. She puts the cupcake down. She also gives herself a palm slap on the forehead saying “I could have had a V8”! Then you see a hand pouring a glass of V8. An unseen announcer touts the benefits of V8.

The final scene shows a woman seated at a desk. She has a cup of coffee in her hand. A large can of V8 flashes on the screen. Then back to the woman. She says, “I could have had a V8” while giving herself a palm slap with her other hand.

A V8 Moment

The long running series of V8 commercials spawned the phrase “having a V8 moment”. This phrase meant that you proceeded in a situation in a certain way that you quickly regretted. Or it could also mean that upon reflecting on an event in the past, you now see how you handled it all wrong.

The phrase even entered the world of the television animated comedy, “Family Guy”. In this particular episode, Peter Griffin is laying on a psychiatrist’s couch. The psychiatrist asks Peter to reach back into the deepest memories of his childhood. Peter then says that he recalls a traumatic childhood scene. In the scene, when Peter gave his father a Father’s Day card, his father grumpily told him that he was not his real father.

At this recollection, Peter sits up in the couch and says, “Oh my God, Francis Griffin wasn’t my real father! I wonder what else I repressed in my memory”. After a second or two, he says, “Oh my God, I could have had a V8”, as he gives himself a palm slap.

It Is Poison

How often have you had a V8 moment? That moment when you realize that you did not so the right thing in a situation or event. I confess that I have had way too many. I certainly wish I had the ability to go back and do things differently in those situations. It is the old “if I knew then what I know now” conundrum.

There is something vitally important for you to remember about every V8 moment. Refrain from allowing them to become recurring feelings of regret. Lingering regret is toxic. It is injecting yourself with poison. To learn from your mistakes is growth. Sometimes it takes awhile before you learn something. To revise your subsequent actions based on what you learned from your mistakes is the productive option. Choosing to live with never ending regret is detrimental. It produces nothing good. It is sin.

It Is Going To Happen

The ultimate V8 moment occurs after your body stops functioning and you are declared dead. At that time, your spirit energy, your essence, travels to another realm of existence. You will then experience your life review. It will be an observation and evaluation of your entire lifetime. It will cover everything. You will see your first moment of consciousness to your last breath of life. You will see the good, the bad, the ugly, the beautiful.

There will undoubtedly be V8 moments galore. Of course, there will be good things to view as well. Nothing whatsoever will be hidden. Everything will be laid bare. Nothing will be covered up. You will see the good, the bad, the ugly, the beautiful. A unique feature will be the ability to see how your actions made a difference (or made no difference). You will be able to see the effect (or lack of effect) that you had on others. Your life review will be glorious or it will be pure hell. It entirely depends on you. Like it or not, the life review is gonna happen. You can’t say I didn’t warn you.

Yes, Absolutely Yes

At one time or another, everyone has said “If I only knew then, what I know now”. I readily confess that I have said it regarding a whole assortment of things in my past. If I knew then what I know now, I would have definitely done some things differently. How do you know which ideas to follow in order to live successfully? How do you know when to speak up and when to shut up? When you reach that fork in the road of life, how do you know which side of the fork in the road to travel? Is there a testing device that you can use? The answer is yes. Absolutely, yes.

The book of Matthew describes the unfailing testing device. Ask, and it shall be given. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will open. ALL who ask, will receive. ALL who seek, will find. ALL who knock, will gain entry.

Ask, seek, knock are, of course, all metaphors for prayer. Feel free to study the original language. You will discover the true intent of the terms, ask, seek and knock. The true intent is to guide the reader to engage in a continuous ongoing action. This is clearly stated in another Bible verse, “Pray without ceasing”. Ask, and keep asking for guidance. Next, seek, and keep seeking for the right way. Then, knock, and keep knocking. The door to the wisdom of the Kingdom of God will be opened. Continually ask, seek and knock. As a result, if you do this every day, every day of your remaining life will be fruitful. And that, my friend, will make for one orgasmic life review.

Why Do You Exist?

Here is the progression of the average human being. I fully understand that there are variants and exceptions from this progression. First, you are born. Then, you grow up under the auspices of a father and mother. You go to school. Next, you graduate school. Then you get a job. You earn money. You find a place to live independent of your parents. Next, you get married. Then, you have children. You go to work every week for the next forty to fifty years or so. Then you retire from the work world. Next, you live in retirement for an unknown number of years. Then, you get sick and die. Then, within a few generations, all memory that you ever even existed, is gone forever as if you were never born.

If that was all there was to it, you would be no different than a bird, or a squirrel, or a goose. Live. Eat. Shit. Sleep. Work. Copulate. Reproduce. Die. You are different however. You, as a human being, are a child of God. In the book of Genesis, it is stated, “God created mankind in his own image”. Human beings are in the image of God in their spiritual and intellectual nature.

An Expression Of The I AM

You are an expression of a power infinitely greater than you – the Infinite Power, The I Am That I Am – God. Your awareness of being expresses God. First, your mind generates your thoughts. Then, your thoughts generate your feelings. Next, your thoughts and feelings (including your intuition), generate your beliefs. Your inner beliefs then generate all the outer circumstances of your entire life.

You exist in order to demonstrate the glory of God. You exist to express the Most High in a myriad of infinite ways. God has granted you power. God has granted you freedom. You were born with this freedom. Understand that there is only One Presence – God. That One Presence is within you at all times. Spend some of your allotment of time, every single day, without fail, dwelling within the Kingdom of God. Be thankful – thankful you do not have to beg some capricious and arbitrary deity for something that may or may not be granted depending on what mood they are in.

Your Two Precious Possessions

Gold. Cryptocurrency. Stocks. Cold hard cash. Real estate. Classic automobiles. Jewelry. Fine art and other collectables. Society holds these as highly valued commodities as well as precious possessions. They pale in comparison however, to your two most precious possessions. These possessions are your mind and the allotment of time you are permitted on Earth. It is vital to your success in life that you treat them as your two most precious possessions.

If you are young, then start now to learn the art of conscious manifestation. Use your abundance of time to learn how to create your desired reality. Equally important is to shed yourself of the “I’m going to live forever” mentality. You do, but not on this Earth plane of existence. Most importantly, this mentality wastes your precious commodity of time.

If you are middle-aged, there is still time. Call a time out. Step away from everything for a brief bit. Completely and honestly evaluate how you are using your time. Instead of using time on any form of escapism, use your time to create a reality where escapism is completely unnecessary. Do it now. Life really flies by faster than you think.

If you are old, be at peace but also be urgent in the use of your time. There is no longer any time to waste. Not even a single day. Cast aside all resentments as well as any grudges that you have built up over the years. Throw them away. They imprison you in a prison of your own making.. It is very important so I will repeat that –grudges and resentments imprison you. Allow yourself to express Universal Mind. Pay no attention to the opinions of others if it conflicts with you dwelling on the Presence of the Almighty.. Fulfill your true purpose, whatever it may be, while you still have time.

You Possess A Fortune – Use It

Can you think? Then you have a functioning mind.

Are you still breathing? Then you have time.

They are your fortune. Use your fortune to the very best of your ability. Use them in concert with the guidance of Universal Intelligence. Likewise, treat every day as a precious gift, because it truly is, you know.

Power Is Now Available To Break Free

Oh How They Love To Control

Throughout human history there is a sad and never-ending scenario. That scenario is of one person or group maneuvering to control and gain power over another person or group of persons. Sometimes that maneuvering is done through brutal cruelty. Sometimes merely the threat of harm has been enough to gain control. Yet another way control is achieved is through psychological manipulation. Brutal mass controllers abound throughout history – Genghis Khan, Timur, Torquemada, Leopold of Belgium, Stalin, Hitler, Mao Zedong and so on.

I am not advocating for anarchy. In order for a civilized society to function, there must be some control mechanism in place. This mechanism is necessary to keep a small minority from interrupting the peace and harmony of the large majority.

Beyond political and financial control is a far more insidious and toxic form of control. Humans just can’t seem to help themselves from trying to control the minds and thoughts of other humans. It’s a perversity without any redeeming value.

For example, your boss at work that almost has an orgasm when he or she arbitrarily exercises control. Next, there is the political authority who delights in lording over their position of control. Then there is the corrupt law enforcement official who gets a cheap thrill out of intimidating and creating fear. In addition, there is the husband or wife who use all manner of ways to subtly gain control in the relationship. And on and on and on, ad nauseum.

Stop Whining, Start Believing

Some human beings like being controlled. Most do not. The majority who feel aggrieved more than likely form resentments against their control. These resentments can be silent (within themselves). They can be verbally expressed. They also can take the form of various actions and reactions. The pressure for you to conform to be a certain way can make for an unhappy life.

The words of Jesus Christ in Mark 11:24 are essential truth as well as timeless in nature. “Whatsoever you desire, when you pray, believe that you have received it and it will be yours”. Do you desire to be free of being controlled by others? Then start believing that you are free. That is where you begin breaking free.

I can almost see the “yeah buts” coming forth like a horde of locusts. Yeah but if I do not do or be what he (or she) wants me to do or be, they won’t like me. They may try to hurt me in some way. The harm could be physical, emotional, mental or financial in nature.

Believe. Believe that you are free from control. In your inner mind, experience your life as you desire it to be. Free to be your real self. Free to think the thoughts and say the words that you choose. Your new belief is that you are living in a manner that expresses who you are. Make this your unchanging belief regardless of any circumstances. To hell with circumstances. Believe what you choose to believe. That is your power.

Daniel And The Lions Den

Many have heard the story of Daniel. During the captivity of the Jews in Babylon in the sixth century B.C., Daniel prayed only to the one true God. This was in direct violation of the decree of King Darius. This decree stated that for a period of thirty days all prayers and petitions be directed solely to King Darius. The decree was to force people to acknowledge that all substance came from their secular ruler, Darius, not from any other source.

Daniel ignored the decree. He was arrested and sentence to be placed into a pit of hungry lions. In fact, the lions were not fed the day before so that they would be good and hungry. Daniel’s focus and attention on the one true God remained steadfast. He turned his back to the lions the entire night. He emerged the next day from the lions den totally unscathed.

The story of Daniel is the story of every man. Daniel completely turned his back to the lions. He looked only at the light that is God. He looked only at the power that is God. In the same way, every manner of control that humans can come up with can likewise be neutralized.

Every problem automatically produces its own solution. The solution is to be free of the problem. Thus, with any problem, turn your back to the problem (the lions). Turn your face to the solution. Focus your belief on the solution (being free). Focus your mind’s attention on the solution already having occurred. Feel yourself to be that which you desire. If your desire is to live free in peace and harmony, then that is precisely what you believe and feel.

Not A Big Guy With a Long Beard

The famous painting by Michelangelo, “The Creation of Adam” is one of the most well-known paintings in the world, ranking right up there with Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci. Michelangelo’s painting is the fresco on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican. The painting renders a portrayal of God giving the spark of life to Adam. God is portrayed as an old guy with white hair, wearing a white robe and having a long beard.

Michelangelo’s painting of God creating Adam is probably the most reproduced artistic creation of all time. It is truly an impressive creation of art. It served to translate the image of God into an image discernable to the human mind. There is even a Family Guy parody that portrays God as an old guy with white hair, robe and beard. Peter is with God in an elevator that is stuck between floors. He starts asking God all types of questions. Peter: “God, are we just a computer simulation run by a higher species”? God: “Yes”. Peter: “OK, I wasn’t expecting that”.

Of course, God is not some old guy with white hair and a long beard peeking at you from behind the clouds. God is transcendent and unknowable. The Kingdom of God (Awareness of Being) is within each and every human being. That is the way in which you were created. The Kingdom of God is within you (Luke 17:21). The peace, the power, the freedom of God is available to all within that Kingdom.

There Is A Way Out

If you do not enjoy being manipulated like some chess piece in someone else’s game of chess, there is a way out. The way out involves completely revising your perspective about everything in your current circumstances. You’re going to have to “go rad”. You are going to have emulate Daniel.

Is your spouse controlling you? Look only at God. Is your boss at work controlling you? Look only at God. Are your physical infirmities controlling you? Look only at God. Is your church or other social group controlling you? Look only at God. Is your depression controlling you? Look only at God. Is your financial situation controlling you? Look only at God. Are your friends controlling you? Look only at God. Are your fears controlling you? Look only at God.

There is only One Presence. There is only one Power. That Presence is God. That Power is God. There is a counter-logical solution to any situation where you feel controlled by your circumstances. Like Daniel in the lions den, turn your back to the circumstances.

Fix your mind, your thoughts, your vision, your heart, your entire being, solely on God. See only the One Presence. See only the One Power. Give up your belief in bad circumstances. Where there is strife, believe only in peace of God. Where there is weakness, believe only in the power of God. It is your way out.

Power – Use It Or Don’t Use It

Universal Intelligence, God, created you in the image of Universal Mind. The truth of Mark 11:24 reaches out to you every single day of your life. Whatsoever you believe, you will receive.

There is a critical “catch” to this power of belief with which you have been gifted. This “catch” is called free will. If you choose to make the decision to refrain from believing, your connection to the power is interrupted. Unbelief throws the power switch to the “off” position.

Your complete conviction, without any hidden doubts, without any secret fears, seals the deal for you. While in a relaxed state, employ your imagination to the fullest. Feel your desire as rock solid real. Your steadfast faith keeps the power switch in the “on” position.

Your power exists. It is yours to use or not to use, as you so choose.

Conceive. Believe. Receive.

How Do You Stack Up On The 80/20 Scale

The History Of Pareto Scale

Have you ever heard of a concept called the Pareto Principle? If not, it is possible that you may have heard about it under another name- The 80/20 Rule. Management consultant Joseph Juran developed the concept of the Pareto Principle. He developed it for the purposes of organizational quality control and improvement. He picked up on the concept after reading from the works of Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto. Pareto noted that 80% of the land in Italy is owned by 20% of the population.

In simple terms, the 80/20 Rule means that 80% of your beneficial results comes about from just 20% of available time resources. You get a lot of stuff accomplished in 20% of your time. You get a little bit of stuff done with 80% of your time.

Some Examples of the Pareto Principle

Let’s look at some examples of the Pareto Principle in the world today.

In the business world, there is the axiom that 80% of sales are generated by 20% of clients.

A United Nations report revealed that 80% of the world’s wealth is held by 20% of the population.

In computer science, 80% of software errors and crashes come from 20% of reported bugs.

Software developers have found that 80% of the time people use 20% of a program’s functions.

In baseball, there is a statistic that is kept called “wins above replacement”. This stat basically shows how many wins a team has with a certain player in the lineup as opposed to that player not being in the lineup. Roughly 80% of a team’s wins are achieved with 20% of the roster in the lineup.

In workplace safety, studies via the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, show that 20% of workplace hazards account for 80% of workplace injuries.

In healthcare, 20% of patients use approximately 80% of healthcare resources.

Criminal justice statistics reveals that 80% of the crimes that are committed are committed by 20% of the criminal population.

A 1988 report regarding video rental stores (remember them?) disclosed 80% of sales come from 20% of videotapes.

In my own career experience as a union representative, I definitely can attest that 80% of grievance litigation work came from 20% of the union members (who we used to refer to as “the usual suspects”).

Why Should It Even Matter To You

OK, if you were not familiar with the Pareto Principle, now you have an idea of what it is. If you already had heard of it, this was a super condensed refresher. It is possible your response may be – “So what, who cares? How does all this jazz affect me and my life”? That is a valid question.

Being continually aware of the 80/20 Rule is important to you because it can be applied to a person’s lifetime as well. Almost everybody has “stuff” that they want to accomplish in this lifetime. It matters not what the “stuff” is. You know what it is. It could be money, relationships, career, health or intercession ability or any combination thereof. Even the guy who just wants to get laid. That would fall under the category of relationships (and after he gets an STD, regaining good health).

Permit me to extrapolate the 80/20 Rule. The average person spends approximately 20% of their non-sleeping, non-working, non-eating, non-showering, non-shitting (well, you get the idea) time achieving 80% of the “stuff” that they want to achieve. The grim reaper is a particularly uncompromising fellow. You do not know when he is going to come for you. You do know that there is a limit on the amount of time that you have here in this world.

Now, applying this to the 80/20 Rule, if you get an achievement rate of 80% of what you were going for by using only 20% of your available time, what do you think would happen if, during your entire lifetime, you just as productively used 25%, 30%, even 35% of your available time over your lifetime. You more than likely would surpass what you ever imagined was possible.

Yeah, But…….

“Yeah but” you say, “I need some down time, some goofing off time in my life. I’m not a robot or something”. Even if you pushed up effective usage of your available time to 35%, that would still give you almost two thirds of all the available time in your life to goof off. The Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu said many moons ago, “To say I don’t have time is to say I don’t want to”.

Time Use Defines Who You Are

Which type are you? Are you the one who says, “God did not give me a spirit of fear, but of love, of power and of discipline”. Or are you the one who says, “I wonder what’s new on Tik Tok?” Are you fully engaged in the disciplined process of clarifying your desires and creating an inner crystal clear image of them? If so, you must prioritize your spending of time in the direction of your heart’s desires rather than the thousand and one distractions that the world throws at you. Ultimately, the way in which you use your available time defines who you are.

For every decade that you live in this earth dimension, your perspective on time changes. In your youth you go through the “I’m going to live forever” stage. In middle-age, you notice time moving faster and say to yourself, “Seems like only yesterday that I was 20, but I still have time to work with”. In your old age, you say to time, “Damnit, slow down, you’re driving too fast”!

The thing about time is this – It is completely free, but at the same time it is beyond putting a value on it. You can spend every “penny” of time that you get but you can’t store any of it away. Once you have spent your hour, your day, your year, your decade, you can never get it back, it’s gone.

Alright let’s say that you have lived your designated amount of years. The grim reaper is walking up the sidewalk to your front door. You did achieve some stuff but other stuff was left undone or you screwed up. You had successes. You had failures. How much of your life conformed to the 80/20 Rule? How much could you have done that was left undone through a misuse of time? Start today to really look at how you are spending your available time. The substance of your life depends on it.

Dammit, Can I get a Re-Do?

When your body stops functioning and your spirit moves on to the next realm, you will have an opportunity to review your life here on earth from start to finish. Everything in your life will be reviewed from several different perspectives. You will not only see happenings and events from your viewpoint. You will also see and feel how your thoughts, words and actions affected all the primary people in your life. You will see how careless words negatively affected a human soul. You will see how a seemingly insignificant kind action on your part positively affected a human soul. You will see and feel – everything. The entire process will be monitored by higher evolved spirits (No, they won’t be piping in and saying, “You jerk, why did you do that”.).

After a certain point in my own life review, I can imagine myself blurting out, “Dammit, can I get a re-do or something”? Whereupon the monitor smacks my hand with a ruler saying, “We don’t swear around here”. That image reminds me of that scene in the movie, The Blues Brothers when Belushi and Ackroyd are visiting the nun. She explains that the orphanage is in a bind and needs help in the form of money. The Belushi character offers to help and his offer is rejected by the nun. Belushi then says, ” Well, I guess your up shit creek”. She promptly smacks him on the hand with a ruler. This causes him to curse again in pain which then causes the nun to continue smacking him. This goes on hilariously until while attempting to retreat back to his car, he tumbles down the stairs while still seated in a way too small for him school desk. She tells both of them not to return until they have redeemed themselves. Thereupon is the basis for his and Ackroyd’s further adventures.

Strait Is The Gate

Have you ever heard someone use the expression, “From now on I’m going to stay on the strait and narrow”. You may see it spelled “straight and narrow” but strait is the correct word. Strait means narrow or constricted. It is where we get the words straitjacket and straitlaced.

What this phrase means is that when someone follows the strait and narrow, they are making every effort to conduct their life according to Universal Law. Universal Law which has been set into action by God.

The actual phrase is taken from the biblical text in the book of Matthew – “Enter ye in at the strait gate; for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat; because strait is the gate, and narrow the way which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it”.

In consciously manifesting into this physical world your dreams and desires, be aware of this: that the majority of the world’s population productively uses but 20% of their available precious time to bring about most of what they want to accomplish. The other 80% of available time is by and large wasted. Is just observing and appreciating a bird or a flower or a cloud wasting your time? No. Is gossip and backbiting and jealousy and worry and violence and spite wasting your time? Yes.

Each day requires you to go to work, to school, to attend to family needs, to attend to personal needs, to eat, to sleep. After all the necessaries are done however, comes your available time. In the next twelve months, endeavor to take that 20% effective usage of your time and bump it up to 25% or even 30%. Take that additional time and devote it totally to thoughts, words and actions which will lead you to consciously manifest your inner greatness. Within you is the Kingdom of God which patiently awaits your arrival.

Who knows? If you devote enough of your allotment of time to aligning yourself with Universal Intelligence, the I AM, you may not even be required to have to do a re-do like me.

A New Declaration Of Independence

Independence Day – July 4, 1776

July 4, 1776, is a monumental date in the history of the United States of America. It was on that date that representatives from all thirteen colonies approved the final wording of a formal and irrevocable severing of all ties to the kingdom of Great Britain. The Declaration of Independence, signed by fifty six representatives, was the document that officially changed the thirteen colonies into a new, independent country, the thirteen United States of America.

The United States Declaration of Independence subsequently became a model for similar documents all over the world. President Abraham Lincoln made it the centerpiece of his policies during the Civil War. One particular sentence in the document became one of the world’s most well-known statements of human rights. “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”. The word unalienable means “that which cannot be given away or taken away”.

What Happened Next?

The representatives of the thirteen colonies, now referred to as the Founding Fathers, then had the document published and distributed all throughout the thirteen colonies. Any remaining colonial legislatures still operating with nominal loyalty to Great Britain were declared null and void. New representative legislatures were established in their place.

The body of the representatives, the Second Continental Congress, sent the Declaration to King George III of Great Britain. Both he and Parliament immediately denounced it as invalid. He proceeded with mobilizing British troops as well as hiring German mercenaries to crush the rebellion. A state of war commenced. It took until 1783 for Great Britain to finally call it quits and put an end to the war. They recognized the United States as an independent and sovereign nation.

John Adams, the second president of the United States and one of the leaders of the independence movement, stated, in a letter to his wife, Abigail: “I am apt to believe that (Independence Day) will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the Day of Deliverance by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations from one end of this continent to the other from this time forward forever more”. And so it has.

Every year, throughout the United States, on the national holiday of the Fourth of July, there are parades, special events and games, picnics, barbeques, and especially fireworks displays (or illuminations as John Adams referred to them). As a child, I clearly remember that the crowning highlight of Independence Day was attending the fireworks display in the evening.

Your Own Declaration Of Independence

If you have not already done so, the time is now for you to put forth your own declaration of independence. I speak of a declaration of your own personal independence. Independence from the thoughts, the words, the emotions, the beliefs of other people affecting your thoughts, your feelings, your beliefs. It is time to fully claim your inalienable right to live as a sovereign human being.

The American people, by and large, have become dependent on other people, places, and “powers that be” to inform, control and direct how they choose to think and live their lives. You look at the obscene cost of housing, the obscene cost of health care, the obscene cost of a college education. You then turn to politicians and bureaucrats who are incapable of doing much of anything except receive large campaign donations and large fees from giving speeches. All they do is borrow more money from China to shore up the economy. Ignorance, violence and greed are in the process of manhandling America. In the meantime you await the next football game kickoff or the next clearance sale. You do this in between mindless drudgery at the workplace while you continue pedaling faster and faster just to remain in place. All the while there is a little tickle in the very recesses of your mind that pleadingly says “there just has to be some way out of this effing quagmire, there just has to be”.

Well friend, I bear good news. There is most assuredly a way out. It all starts by declaring within yourself your own personal declaration of independence. A glorious and fulfilling independence from the controllers of this world. I tell you this most earnestly from my own life that I have experienced brief tastes and sips of true freedom from the controllers of the world. It is a feeling of ultimate pleasure that cannot be described and should be felt by every human being on the face of the earth. It is life.

Why only sips and tastes? The answer to that is easy. I am a flawed individual who gets swayed by fears and illusions just like everyone else. It is something that I humbly work on each and every day. God has graciously given me the power to manifest despite those flaws. It is something that I will be continually working on until my last breath.

The Mystery Of Independence Thru Dependence

You can do nothing better than to rest each day in the Kingdom of God within. The more you relent and simply dwell on He Who Is All, the more free you will feel. The more that you release your grasp on using your own devices to solve problems, the greater will be your ability to find solutions. The more dependent on Universal Mind that you allow yourself to be, the more independent of a person you become – independent of the controllers of this world. It is an enigma, wrapped in a puzzle, wrapped in a mystery. The greater the dependence, the greater the independence.

From the biblical book of Proverbs in the Old Testament comes this statement: Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, lean not on your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge God and He shall direct your paths.

Who is this Lord that you are supposed to put all your trust in? Who is this God that you are directed to acknowledge in all of your ways? It sure as hell is not the hundred and one limited false gods put forth by the world. God is unknowable and transcendent over all. God is Ultimate Intelligence, Ultimate Wisdom, Ultimate Power – the I AM that I AM.

You Can Do Nothing —– You Can Do Anything

So now July 4, 2022 approaches, the two hundred and forty-sixth anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of the thirteen colonies from the authority of Great Britain. Whoever you are, wherever you stand in life, whatever your circumstances are, it is time. It is time for you to unequivocally declare your own declaration of independence. “Independence from who? Independence from what?” you say. Declare your independence from the control of any person, any group, any entity whatsoever that would block the doorway to your entrance to the Kingdom of God within. Declare your independence and then proceed to gain it by dwelling each day within the Kingdom.

OK, why should you? What’s in it for you? Anything and everything. Money. Relationships. Career, Health. Intercession. Peace. Abundance. Joy. Whenever you choose to follow Universal Law to consciously manifest your reality, it is not you manifesting it, it is Universal Mind. You are merely the conduit for expressing God. That is your purpose in life, to express the Divine. We are created with free will but only when we lose our life will we gain it. Yet another enigma. In the book of Matthew, Jesus Christ stated, ” with God all things are possible”. And so it is.

Through belief, faith in that which the eyes cannot see, you can receive anything that you believe as already received, from your dwelling place within the Kingdom of God.

Believe. Receive.

What Is Time?

Eckhart Von Hochheim, commonly known as Meister Eckhart, was a German theologian, philosopher and mystic. He lived, taught and preached in the late thirteenth century, early fourteenth century At the time of his death, his teachings were attacked as a result of internecine intra-church intrigue.

While Meister Eckhart himself was never branded a heretic, the Avignon Vatican pronounced certain of his teachings as heretical. It was just another chapter in the never-ending human drama of one group of humans fearful of losing control over another group of humans. Recent efforts by Eckhart’s Dominican Order to confirm his theological orthodoxy resulted in a letter from the Vatican in 1992 to the Master of the Dominicans stating, “we are perfectly free to say that he is a good and orthodox theologian”.

Eckhart taught that God is a totally transcendent Being, beyond all words, beyond all understanding. From his writings, he stated that “Time is what keeps the Light from reaching us”. With regard to our reality and the “now” of it, he also wrote, “There exists only the present instant…….a Now which always and without end is itself new. There is no yesterday, nor is there any tomorrow but only Now, as it was a thousand years ago and as it will be a thousand years hence”.

Urgent Care Centers

A relatively recent occurrence in the field of healthcare is the proliferation of neighborhood clinics known as “urgent care centers”. When I was very young, the family doctor still made housecalls for urgent care situations. Then, as that era came to a close, the hospital emergency room became the option for immediate medical attention.

In today’s world, the urgent care center, open seven days a week, twelve hours a day, and has emerged as a viable treatment option when you need to do something now about a health related problem. There are even specialized urgent care centers now such as pediatric urgent care, orthopedic urgent care and mental health urgent care.

Awareness Of Being

In your life today, right now, you are in a situation that requires urgent care on your part. So many human beings, the overwhelming majority of inhabitants of planet earth, defer their awareness of being to tomorrow (or some later date). For example, if you do this, then tomorrow you will get that. If you go to work, you will get pay on payday to pay for your food, your lodging, your car, your clothes, your child’s braces, and so on.

All activity is geared to doing something today in order to get something or be something tomorrow (or some later date). It is a true blessing to be able to earn enough money to pay for your needs. The urgent care that you must attend to however, is the endless deferring of your Now awareness of being.

For just a few minutes, cut away all the layers of crap and focus in on exactly what you are aware of being right now. Not what you will be five minutes from now. Not what you will be tomorrow or next week or next year or five years from now, but what you are aware of being right now. This awareness of being, moment by moment by moment, is the very essence of your life and of your existence in this dimension. It is urgent that you realize this because everything that occurs in your life flows outward from your now awareness of being.

Smothers Brothers

Back in the 1960’s, the Smothers Brothers (Tom and Dick) were a very successful pair of folk musicians who specialized in comedy. At home we had one of their comedy LP albums and thoroughly enjoyed it. The brothers went on to have an hour long television variety/comedy show on CBS. While the show proved very successful, it was ultimately cancelled by the network in 1969 due to content that was considered too controversial.

On one of their shows, they had a short film segment that was brilliant. This film was entitled “American Time Capsule”. It was a film that consisted of a multitude of still photos presented in kaleidoscopic fashion and set to a vibrant, yet subtle drumbeat solo. It is actually available to watch on the internet if you choose to do so. It portrayed two hundred years of American history in three minutes.

A Lasting Impression

This short film made a lasting impression on me. From time to time, I reflect upon it as sort of a microcosm of how time flows in the life of a human being. The film commences with the events of the American Revolutionary War in 1776. It proceeds to display in brief but recognizable image flashes, thirteen hundred different images of American history in a chronological fashion until reaching the current date at that time, 1968.

One of the things fascinating about this short film was the subtly changing speed of the display of the images. If you take one hundred and eighty seconds (three minutes) and divide it equally by thirteen hundred (images), it would come to about thirteen hundredths of a second each. The film however did not display each image in equal time amounts. As the film progressed to the latter half of the nineteenth century and throughout the twentieth century, it moved ever faster as the amount of time allotted for each image was shortened. It is a remarkable piece of cinematography.

The sands of time of your life move past you in approximately the same manner as the images of the film American Time Capsule. As you get older, the time, the events, the circumstances of your life, move by with ever increasing speed. Time is the ultimate trickster in this regard. It moves turtle-like when you want it to speed up and then it becomes Speed Racer when you would appreciate it slowing down just a tad.

Time Is What Keeps The Light From Reaching You

So how exactly do you deal with this mischievous imp called time? There is only one best way. Focus. Make the irrevocable free will choice to focus. Focus on the present instant. Leave all temporalities behind. Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow is merely an illusion. There is only Now, your current awareness of being.

You say that you can’t. You have tried and you keep thinking about stuff that is “coming up” tomorrow, next week, next month. Try as you might, you keep ruminating over past events, past grievances, past mistakes. If that is the case, you need to go to your own personal urgent care center. You must generate a desire to “live in the end” right now with as much urgency, with as much feeling, as you are humanly capable of. If you do this, it will assuredly be to your benefit.

Discard Your Concept Of Time

When my youngest boy was around four years old, he became ill one day with a high fever caused by a childhood flu bug of some sort. All of a sudden his temperature spiked with such an intensity that he suffered a grand mal febrile seizure. I was in another portion of the house and immediately heard my wife shout in distress. I did not wait for an ambulance. I scooped him up, ran out to the car and drove at once to the local hospital emergency room which was fortunately only two minutes away.

Pulling up to the ER entrance, I jumped out of the car and carried him inside, imploring the nearest nurse to help my boy. They quickly took him and employed immediate measures to hydrate him and successfully reduce his temperature. He recovered nicely. During that entire urgent situation, there was no yesterday, there was no tomorrow. The entire focus of my life at that time was totally centered on one thing – getting my son help in that Now instant. I had no concept of time.

What Do You Desire To Be?

I now pose a question to you – What do you desire to be, to have, to achieve, to experience? In your Now awareness of being, be that – now; have that – now; achieve that – now; experience that – now. Commit yourself, once and for all, to choose your ever present Dwelling Place to be the Kingdom of God within. Humbly allow the Divine Presence to fill every part of you. Heed your intuition and pay attention to Divine inspiration. Do this with a peaceful urgency and every other thing in your life will subsequently fall into place naturally for you.
