Break Free From The Stranglehold Of Fear

The Stranglehold of Fear

Fear. Human beings on this planet walk around every day carrying around all manner of fears within them. You may be experiencing fear of not having enough money to pay all your bills each month. You may fear getting sick or injured and if you are sick or injured you may also fear falling deeper into the pit of sickness or further injury. You may fear being impotent in your ability to intercede and help someone you desperately desire to help. You may fear being stuck in a dead end job that you hate but continue with solely because you need the money. You may fear not being loved by those that you love. Whether on the surface or hidden deep within you, fear is a wretched companion. It delights in keeping a stranglehold around your neck for as long as it can. Dealing with constant fear is most assuredly NOT the way our lives were meant to be. You were created to live in the fortress of the Kingdom of God within you, free of the stranglehold of fear.

Yirah

Yirah is the Hebrew word which was translated into the Bible as “fear”. However, as is the case with a number of Hebrew words, it can be translated in more than one way. The word yirah is often translated in a purely biblical context as reverence. Yirah represents a deep, respectful and holy awe of the ultimate magnitude of God rather than fright. Experiencing the yirah of God can denote a sense of being overwhelmed by the Divine Presence within you.

The well-known scripture verse from the book of Proverbs states (as translated): “the fear (yirah) of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom”. This foundational verse emphasizes that true understanding in life begins with a deep reverence, respect and “letting go” to God’s authority in your life, rather than being terrified. I believe that “letting go” part is what actually terrifies human beings. That is precisely what Mr. Fear is counting on.

Can Faith and Fear Co-Exist?

Short answer – not really. They can briefly rub shoulders when you run into a threatening situation. Faith however is firmly rooted in love – love of Divine Intelligence, love of Divine Wisdom, love of the Divine Presence that we call God. Scripture states with clarity – “There is no fear in love, perfect love casts out fear.” If your sincere focus is on the Kingdom of God within you, whenever Mr. Fear attempts to hijack your thoughts, he will be unceremoniously cast out by your faith in God.

Joshua 1:9 states “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Faith and fear are opposing forces within you. Faith is the remedy against Mr. Fear.

Conceive. Believe. Receive.

The Holy Spirit of God, at your request, plants the seed of faith in your mind. Thus you conceive the thought of just trusting God, which extinguishes the fear. You then tenaciously hold on to that thought of faith until it becomes belief. Once you believe, truly believe, as in “it is done” belief, then you receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit – peace, strength, joy.In Mark 5:36, Jesus states, “Do not be afraid, just believe.” Your belief comes from your faith. Faith is defined in scripture as “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen”. Make no mistake about this – you live in two worlds simultaneously – the seen world and the unseen world.

Prudence Versus Fear

There are certain instances where the quality of being prudent may be confused with fear. Let’s look at the definition of the word “prudent”. Prudent describes being wise in action or judgment regarding the practical matters of life. It means exercising good judgment, showing foresight and managing your resources with care to avoid unnecessary risk.

When you avoid walking alone in a bad neighborhood at three in the morning, this is not fear. It is being prudent. When you say you are fearless and you dive into the deep end of the pool without knowing how to swim, you are merely being foolish and reckless, not fearless. To do so would be a total lack of prudence.

The Kingdom of God Within – Your Fortress Against Fear

One of those mystifying truths that Jesus came out with was the statement that if you try to save your life, you will lose it and if you lose your life, you will save it. On the surface it may sound like doubletalk. If you take the time however to actually dive deeper into the study of the true meaning of that statement, it becomes crystal clear.

“Saving our lives” means stubbornly hanging on to our own self-centered ways, attempting to retain control and serve God on our own terms. Mr. Fear absolutely loves it when that happens. It gives him easy access to the thoughts of your mind and feelings of your heart. To nurture and hold on to this wretched character never ends well. When you make the fateful decision to choose to give up total control of your precious life to God, by “losing your life”, you will receive access to the peace, power and joy of the Kingdom of God within you. When you persistently seek the Kingdom of God, which is within you, Mr. Fear will beat a hasty path to the exit and look for “easier pickings”.

There are really only two human emotions – fear and love. All negative emotions spring forth from fear. All positive emotions spring forth from love (which is God). Fear leads to death. Love leads to life. Choose wisely. Choose life.

All Roads Lead To Rome

Manifesting good things and achievements is good and demonstrates the power of the Almighty Force of Universal Mind that we call God. Divine Intelligence created us with the full ability to manifest good things. God delights in our good achievements. Manifesting peace and joy and strength thru the Kingdom Of God is “goodest” however. Yeah, I understand “goodest” is not really a word. I think however it best exemplifies the concept of going beyond good. Going beyond the artificial barriers that the controllers of this world have erected to keep you in their total control.

In the days of the Roman Empire it was said “all roads lead to Rome”. Thus it is true with our very lives here on this planet. All good and righteous manifestations in your life come from the One True Power and Presence – God. Recalibrate your daily activities to make it a top priority to bust free of the stranglehold of fear. Do this through dwelling in the KIngdom of God within, your personal Fortress of joy, peace and power. Joy of soul, Peace of mind, Power to manifest. All from the power and presence of the Holy Trinity that is within you.

Conceive. Believe. Receive.

A Beautiful Mystical Dwelling Place

Your Power To See The Unseen

Faith is the solid reality of what you hope for.

Faith is the solid proof of what is unseen.

What is hope? The dictionary defines hope as: “a feeling of confident expectation for a certain thing to happen”. Faith is your power to see the unseen. Faith is available to every single human being on the face of the earth. You do need to activate your faith however. You do this by going to a beautiful mystical Dwelling Place every day. This Dwelling Place is the Kingdom of God within.

For any problem, for any situation, for any decision, for any manifestation – dwell on the only true power – God, the universal I AM. Dwelling on God is dwelling within your place of power – the Kingdom of God within. Do not search for God up on Mt. Olympus nor do you have to travel to the peaks of the Himalayas. It is not mandatory to travel to an ecclesiastical building of some type. God is not some Jack and the Beanstalk giant with a long white beard peeking at you from behind the clouds or up on the planet Mars. The Kingdom of God is within you, right now, The price of admission is to focus your mind and your heart on what you are able to perceive about God.

Visiting the Kingdom of God within is about seeing only God if even for only a few minutes a day. Go beyond your problem or situation, whatever it is. Keep going until you arrive at the feeling that the problem does not even exist, you know nothing about it. “How can I do this”?, you ask, “I can’t stop worrying. I’ve tried”. You not only can stop worrying but you must stop worrying. Focus your mind on God. Dwell on God. Dwell in God. You were not created by Original Source in order to demonstrate worry and fear. You were created by Universal Intelligence so that you can bring to fruition in the 3D world the majesty and glory and attributes of the energy of Original Source. Fear and worry do not demonstrate the glory of God Almighty. All humans experience some degree of worry at times. To stubbornly continue however in a state of worry and fear about a problem is sin. It is a falling short of what God created you for. Valid concern is one thing. Prolonged worry is quite another. It is a “holding on” to your lack of faith.

The Photo Shoot

I am grateful over this lifetime to be the father of three precious children, two males, one female. Back when the youngest one, the daughter, was about three or four years old, we decided to take advantage of a big box store “photo shoot special” for all three children. The store had a small room that served as a photo studio. A professional photographer took a photo that was subsequently enlarged and suitable for framing.

In order to keep small children occupied while others were getting their photo taken, there were a few toys and what not there. Included was a lightweight, colorful ball, about the size of a basketball. While waiting, my daughter became enthralled with this ball. When it was her turn to get her photo taken, she steadfastly refused to let go of the ball. The photographer said that it would interfere with the quality of the photo. When we went to take the ball out of her hands, she started crying. Well, we did not want to pay a photographer for a photograph of a crying child so we let her have the ball and the photo was taken.

So it is with free will, faith and choosing to dwell on God. We can choose to just let go (for our benefit) and place our focus on God or we can stubbornly hold onto worry and fear (to our detriment). God allows us the total freedom to make either choice.

OK, So How Do You Get There?

The route to take in order to get to your mystical Dwelling Place is also the simplest route. Whatever your problem, whatever your frustrated desire, refrain from dwelling on it. Refrain from hanging around in that thought neighborhood. Instead, dwell on God. Whatever it is that you are desirous of manifesting, you place roadblocks in your path when you fret and fuss over how in the world you are going to satisfy that desire. Leave the details to God. Be sure that you are paying attention when Universal Intelligence subsequently provides you with the details.

One road that you can use to get to your Dwelling Place is this: once a day, or more if you choose, say to yourself, “I am turning this whole thing (name the specific problem or desire) over to God. Then for at least a few minutes, think of God and only of God. You can do this by making some statement of absolute fact over and over again with the utmost of earnestness.

Some examples of statements of fact that you can use are: “There is only one true power. It is God”; “God is with me, now and always”; “God is guiding me and directing me with love”; “I am grateful that God is with me now”; “Thank you Father, I thank you with all that I am”, “I am a child of the Most High God”; “The peace and presence of God fills me now”. No matter how mechanical it seems at first, keep at it. Commit fully, heart and soul, to the process. It will work, if you work at it. Refrain from struggling. If a fear or worry enters your mind, acknowledge it, then with quiet but firm insistence, substitute that thought with your thought of God. There is not room enough there for both of them. Whenever your mind starts wandering, just gently guide it back to the Dwelling Place.

Another Road You Can Use To Get There

Sometimes, the urge to think about the problem or frustrated desire can be quite powerful. The urge can be so bullying that you cannot even come up with the words of your chosen statement of fact. If you find this to be the case, here is another road that you can take to get to your Dwelling Place. Just say the word “God” and follow that up immediately with a word that describes an attribute of God. Since you are a child of God, created to manifest the I AM in 3D reality, they become your attributes as well by channeling through God. God is demonstrated through your faith.

A favorite acronym that I use to instantly recall a dozen of attributes that I can demonstrate through God and by God is “LILT*BAPC*ICIJ”. The acronym stands for “Love. Intelligence. Light. Truth. Beauty. Abundance. Power. Compassion. Imagination. Creativity. Impartiality. Joy”. When your mind just does not want to let up in conjuring up the problem or frustration, just say loudly in your mind (or out loud if you prefer), “God, Love”; “God, Intelligence”; “God, Light”; “God, Truth”, and so on for all of the attributes. If you have “let go” and allowed God to fill up your thoughts, you are allowing God to channel those attributes through you. In effect, you are those attributes as long as you dwell on God.

Some Further Details

How long per session should I actively use the Dwelling Place technique? A few consecutive minutes are sufficient as long as you are focused and not dealing with distractions.

How many times a day should I practice this form of scientific prayer? When you get to the point where you can go a few consecutive minutes very quickly, feel free to repeat the prayer several times a day with a period of time separating each session. It is important however, that after you have prayed in this manner, that you completely drop all thought of the matter until the next session. This is important to remember as this “in-between respite” gives your manifestation a chance to grow.

How many days should I continue with this technique with regard to a specific desire? Until its materialization is complete. This can range from a few days to a few years depending on the size of the manifestation and the fullness of your faith. Be alert and pay attention to what is going on around you. Be prepared to take advantage of opportunities as they present themselves. Be thankful when you receive encouraging signs and signals. Refrain from thinking of the probable means of achieving your desired end. Ironically, this will slow things down. Just consistently go to your Dwelling Place and when things present themselves, follow through appropriately on your end.

Can I use this technique to manifest more than one pressing need at the same time? While there is nothing per se to prevent you from doing so, if you can, focus on one thing at a time. Try to come up with one manifestation that will solve both problems at once. The greater the manifestation, the more elongated the time factor. That time lag is what really puts your faith to the test. The more elongated the time factor, the greater the temptation to lose faith. If you never used this manner of scientific prayer before, start small. Then as your results yield success, it will strengthen your faith, which is the fuel to your “rocket ship”. If you have two equal and critical desires, then go ahead but just name one desire at the outset of each Dwelling Place session.

You Are A Scientist

Put on your imaginary white lab coat, get your imaginary clipboard and run your own scientific laboratory experiment. Every day, like clockwork, for the next six months, spend some of your daily allotment of time going to your mystical Dwelling Place. Whatever your religious beliefs, from the very start, just check your doubt at the door. Better yet, throw it in the large trash can outside the door. Dragging around a duffel bag of doubt for this experiment will just be a self fulfilling prophecy for negative results.

In my personal experience in praying in this manner, the time frame for manifestation was longer than I originally anticipated but the manifestations were indeed created. I think my “backsliding” into subtle episodes of doubt served to delay the receiving of my order. In any case, this technique will not cost you anything but some moments of your daily time. As you faithfully await answer to your prayer, how can it possibly hurt you to spend time each day dwelling on God?

Believe. Receive.

Be Still — New Way To Conquer Your Fears

Conquer Fear

Back in 1934, the author and lecturer Emmet Fox wrote an essay about how to conquer fear entitled, “Be Still — A Treatment Against Fear”. It is freely available on the internet. Read it for yourself. Print out Psalm 46 from the Bible and use it to follow along as you read the entire essay. He breaks down Psalm 46 verse by verse, going underneath the surface of the words in that beautiful Psalm. In this post I will attempt to condense the gist of the essay through my own understanding of it.

Fear Is A Stalker

Mr. Fear is a debilitating stalker — always lurking and smirking in the background. He is always ready to use any set of circumstances in your life to take your attention away from God and on him. This is the way he gains control of your inner thoughts and emotions. His end game is to take control of you. It is the way he “gets off”. Through listening to the whispers of this SOB, you then go on to obediently accept restrictions, continually rehash old grievances, and focus constantly on what is wrong in your life. You dwell on the problem. Thus you generally manifest for yourself a vortex of ongoing worry and anxiety that sucks you down a rabbit hole of misery.

A Ready Solution To Fear

Within Psalm 46, you are offered an ready solution to the malevolent whispers of fear. The way to conquer Mr. Fear is revealed in Psalm 46, Verse 10 — “Be Still and Know That I Am God.” There is a lot of symbolism contained in this Psalm. A lot. Much meaning under the surface. The essay by Emmet Fox goes into detail about what it all means.

The way that it is suggested that you conquer your fears is simplicity itself. You must however, fully commit yourself to do it. You must do more than just agree with it. It is necessary to do more than just talk about it. You cannot “dance around the maypole” with it. Discipline your mind to do it every single MF day of your life.

The Solution

The object of prayer is to raise your consciousness of the Presence of God in you, through you, around you. You must believe in God as your God. Dwelling within you always. Your refuge. Your very strength. Not just with words but with a relentless belief, a knowledge. When you experience a feeling of doubt, of terror, of despair, of fear, you must make the choice then and there to tenaciously cling to the thought of God, the One True Presence. The Kingdom of God is within you. The problem or problems that you are facing, cannot withstand your constant indwelling of the Presence of God. Fear will recede like a rain puddle recedes as a result of the continuous rays of the sun. It has to because it cannot resist the Presence of All That Is.

To conquer fear, it does mean effort on your part. You CAN rid yourself of this bastard, Mr. Fear, but there is work involved on your part. You have to make the choice to just commit yourself to this method and the work that is involved. But — Oh those beautiful rewards. Those beautiful rewards that stand patiently waiting for you. They are worth your work many, many times over. Even if you have six problems coming at you at once, just make the choice. Make what you know about God, the focus of your thoughts…morning, noon and night.

Is What You Are Doing Now Working For You?

Is what you are doing now working for you? If so, good. Stay on that path. If not however, then you know that you have nothing to lose by trying this method of conquering your fears. Refuse to accept restrictions. Refuse to rehearse grievances. In your mind, refrain from dwelling on the problem. Entertain just one visitor to your mind — the omnipotence of Eternal Supreme Intelligence, God.

It is hard to stop constantly going over those problems and worries, I understand, It is hard work, especially if you are in pain. But, you can do it. You must do it. If you will just fully commit yourself to focusing on the Presence of God, The I Am That I Am, you will conquer Mr. Fear. If you persevere, no matter what, you will begin feeling within you an inner joy and peace that you never thought you could ever experience. It will probably come when you don’t expect it but it will come. An inner peace and joy that is not dependent on outside circumstances. You will be free. It is a glorious feeling.

Be Still – Know That I AM God

From Psalm 46 – “Be still and know that I am God”. What a beautiful, incredibly powerful verse. Not a passive “doing nothing” but an active and potent recipe for whatever trouble you are in, whatever fears you have. Always remember this eternal truth – the Kingdom of God is not up there or out there or over there – the Kingdom of God is within you. Within you. Can you grasp the actual meaning of those glorious words from the mouth of Jesus Christ?

An Acronym To Remember

Here is an acronym for you. Ten attributes that emanate from the Kingdom of God, the eternal I AM. The acronym is: LITE-PPPP-IC. Dwell on these wherever you happen to be. Let them flood your mind. They all perpetually exist within the Kingdom of God. When you dwell on these attributes, you are dwelling on God. Mr. Fear despises it when you do this because it means, if you persevere, he will ultimately lose his control over you.

Love – deep affection, deep devotion. The strongest energy force in the universe.

Intelligence -everything there is to know.

Truth – pure and simple, truth is what is.

Energy – the pure light of the universe

Prosperity -the universal cornucopia.

Power – relentless, unrestrainable force.

ComPassion – we are all one. what helps one, helps all, helps you.

Peace – a knowing stillness; being centered in the Presence of God.

Imagination – to see what you want to make real.

Creativity – to make real in your mind what you see

Dwell on the Presence of God within you. Don’t look to the right. Don’t look to the left. Refrain from looking at your problem. Look at the I Am That I Am that lives within you. If you are able to maintain the rays of the sun by being still, in steady faith, the waters will recede. Mr. Fear will fold up his tent and go after easier pickings elsewhere. He will have no choice. He simply cannot coexist with the power and peace of the Presence of God.

Mr. Fear Will Exit The Scene

Keep your focus on the Presence of God. Your problem or problems will in due course be overcome. Sometimes quickly. Sometimes little by little. Perhaps they will be overcome in the way that you expect. Or perhaps in a way that you never expected. If you do your part however, the problem will be successfully dealt with. You will have the ability to be still in all circumstances. And Mr. Fear will avoid you like the plague and go after the one who focuses on him. You will enjoy that beautiful peace, that success, that you deserve in your life. Try it for sixty consecutive days without fail. Experience for yourself the power of Psalm 46 – Be still and know I am God. Once you get that taste of the inner peace through practicing the Presence of the Divine Eternal, fear will have no place in your life.

Conceive. Believe. Receive.

WTH Do You Really Want Anyway?!

Just exactly what the hell is it that you want anyway? Money? Love? Good health? A fulfilling job? Being able to help a loved one? Let me introduce you to an acronym for the five major areas of living that I call MR. CHI. In traditional Chinese culture, chi is said to be the vital life force of a person and the ultimate measure of a person’s vitality. MR. CHI represents the five basic areas of living that touch every single human being on the planet.

1. M = Money (a necessary tool for aspects of living)

2. R = Relationships (with God, with yourself, with your loved ones, with your friends, with people you would rather avoid, with jerks, with your neighbors, with strangers, with nature, and so on)

3. C = Career (the type of work you do or the interests you passionately pursue)

4. H = Health (your good health in mind, in body, in spirit)

5. I = Intercession (how effective you are in helping others you wish to help)

If you step back and look closely at those five aspects of MR CHI, they pretty much encompass everything that you could desire for yourself in your lifetime.

In my own life, I have been 100% successful in getting what I wanted in all five areas of MR. CHI to the extent that I have faithfully and confidently applied my own recipes to what I was going after. Where I have sabotaged myself is when I made the choice inside myself to allow fears and doubts and resentments to creep in and start calling the shots (they are persistent and nasty critters), thus setting myself up for a fall. It is my firm intention to do what I need to do to manifest only positive results in my life right on up to that final moment when the last breath of life leaves my body. I can tell you this without any hesitation — successfully manifesting what you want is an exciting and fulfilling lifestyle (and sure as hell beats effing up).

We all manifest. Way too many people manifest a reality that brings them disappointment, discouragement and depression. In posts to come, we will explore manifesting your reality regarding all five areas of MR. CHI – money, relationships, career, health and intercession on behalf of others.

Peace.
