My Altruism Cocktail………With A Unique Twist of Selfish

The Reason For This Blog

The idea for this blog came forth into my mind many years ago. The first published blog post was in August of 2020. Since then I have published one post per week over the past sixty weeks. My intention is to continue in this manner until my body stops functioning. Likewise, there is currently a book inside of me that is continually swirling and evolving that will be completed in the near future. At that time it will be offered for sale at a price affordable to everyone. It is a book which will entrust to its reader a power to make good things happen. So, the primary reason for this blog is to provide something of real value (information) to the reader (you). A second reason is for me to derive some monetary earnings so as to subsidize the other aspects of my multi-faceted, remaining life paradigm.

Getting back to reason number one for this blog, to provide you with information that will, if acted upon, help you obtain what you desire in life, that reason would be defined as practicing the principle of altruism. Altruism can be defined as the principle and moral practice of concern for the heightened quality of life, both material and spiritual, of other human beings. Thus, the reason for this blog is altruism……..but with a unique selfish twist. Read on.

I confess that I have had my share of failures during my sixty-eight years of living. With that said and out of the way, I have also experienced many beautiful successes as well. When I have followed the Universal Laws, I have done well. When I have strayed from them, I have not. As I read and edit the weekly posts that I have published, I have helped myself in that I have been able to re-focus and remind myself of powerful truths that for some perverse reason, I lose sight of from time to time. Thus, this blog, if read by nobody other than myself, will in fact be helpful to someone, namely, me. So in that sense, you could say that my altruism has a hint of selfishness. There is a greater reason however that flavors my altruism cocktail with a unique twist of selfishness…….The Life Review. Read on.

I Have Nothing To Say Until I See My Lawyer

In our life, which continues in spirit after our physical body ceases to function, there will come at that point, “the life review”. After having shed my dead body, I can picture my spirit in a waiting room in a grand courthouse type structure similiar to the image above. This life review is something that enters into my thoughts quite often. I can see in my mind’s eye, two old guys with long beards and robes standing in the hallway. They are looking over my folder and whispering to each other. One of them keep looking over at me after looking through my folder and slightly shaking his head. Finally, one of them says, “OK Mr. Butler. Everything you ever said, did, thought, felt and believed during your lifetime has been visually recorded (in HD quality sound). Shall we begin with the life review process in the courtroom.” That is when I blurt out, with sweaty spiritual palms, “I have nothing to say until I speak with a lawyer. Is Johnny Cochran available? How about F. Lee Bailey? I know most of the attorneys usually go down to the “Downstairs Place” but there has to be some up here to help us poor slobs during our life review. Just don’t stick me with anyone from Jacoby and Myers.”

The life review is experienced by everybody who has experienced a lifetime on earth. If you are a person who believes in reincarnation, you will have many life reviews. It is a process where every trace of bullshit is stripped away. We see clearly what we did and we see clearly what we didn’t do. We see how all that we thought, said, did, felt and believed affected our life. We see how everything we thought, said, did, felt and believed affected other lives.

My best guess is that I have about eight to ten years left. Quite bluntly, I have to state at this point, that my life has literally been saved from death, not once, but on four different occasions. It is patently obvious to me that I have yet to complete my life mission. I am currently working on a massive manifestation involving several facets and including all areas of human endeavor. There are two crystal clear “intercession manifestations” that I feel very clearly — (1) to help a specific person in my life to achieve specific goals and (2) to help an unknown amount of human beings through my writing (blog, books, etc.).

I know from personal experience that the stuff I write about in my blog posts “work”. By “putting it out there” by way of the avenue of the internet, I am doing what I can to help my life review. “Yeah, I see all my mistakes, but Judge, Your Honor, I did my best to get the truth out there. You have to give me that much. I did try. I don’t know how many people were helped, but I did try.” At this point I nudge my attorney and whisper to him “Come on man, you’re supposed to be helping me with this.” Ultimately my life review will concluded and my spirit will proceed to where it exactly belongs to be. There are no crooked judges in the life review. Everything is perfectly fair.

“The Culmination”……….Redemption

As I mentioned above, although nobody really knows, my rough estimate as far as how much time I have left is about eight to ten years. I have created a “reality paradigm” in my mind that encompasses a grand, multi-faceted manifestation that I have named “The Culmination”. The Culmination encompasses all five areas of human endeavor — money, relationships, career (the spending of time), health and intercession. Some of the facets stand alone while others have facets within facets. Every facet of The Culmination is clear in my mind’s eye. In a sense, it is already a reality. My work, over this last part of my life, is to feel, in the very core of my being, as real, every single facet of The Culmination as my lived reality, manifesting through Original Source, according to the timing of the Highest Power, the I Am.

That will be my closing statement at the life review. “Yeah, I made a bunch of mistakes but don’t forget about the good stuff too and especially The Culmination at the end. The Culmination was done by God, through God, from God, for the glory of God. You have seen my inner heart. I now throw myself on the mercy of the court.”

Your State of Consciousness Right Now Is Everything

Circumstances Don’t Matter

Circumstances do not matter…..only state of being matters. If you truly want to make good things happen in your life, then always keep that mantra in your mind. In fact, if you place emphasis on the words “matter” and “being”, the sentence takes on its own unique rhythm. It sounds like you were at a political demonstration of some sort, chanting a slogan.

Circumstances do not matter…..only state of being matters. Those nine words define your entire lifetime — from the time the obstetrician slapped your rump in the delivery room to the time of your body’s very last breath just before you die. What…is…your…state…of…being?

In the image above you see a woman who is experiencing a virtual reality experience via the electronic device that she is employing. Her eyes, her mind, her senses, are conscious of something that is totally different than her actual circumstance and surroundings. When she ultimately removes the virtual reality device, her mind, her vision and her feelings revert to the room and surroundings in which she started before putting on the device. While she has it on however, her mind, her senses and to a degree, her beliefs, mirror the experience that she is feeling as a result of the virtual reality device.

Feeling Is The Secret

In the daily circumstances of life, there are things, there are circumstances, that you desire to have and experience. Some of these desires are stronger than others. Most likely, you have formulated some type of general plan to go about getting these desires fulfilled in your life. Even if your plan is to just continue with the status quo and hope for the best, that is still a plan.

The huge stumbling block with the majority of humans however, is that while going after the fulfillment of your desires, you are aware of being without that which you desire. Your awareness of being is that you do not have it and you want it. Your feeling may be that if you work hard at your plan that you will get it (and for a number of reasons that may happen) but your state of being, your core belief is that you do not have it. So, for the overwhelming mass of humanity, day in and day out you live with this belief, this omitting of “living in the end”, Universal Source then matches you up with your overriding belief – the belief being that you currently lack what it is that you desire. The secret sauce to receiving is believing you already have it. Yes, I am aware of how difficult that is, but if you work at it, you can do it.

Matthew 21:22 states, “Whatever you ask in prayer, if you believe, you will receive” (New English Translation Bible). Feeling inside that you already have that which you desire, is the missing ingredient. Feeling is the secret.

You Choose, You Receive

The above statement of “you choose, you receive” is certainly highly controversial. Many who are in dire straits and/or agonizing pain would indignantly rush to say, “I never chose this. My injury, my illness, my horrible situation at work, my divorce, my failure, was certainly not my choice. What about infirm or abused infants and children who have no real ability to choose? How dare you!” OK, fair enough. In this earth dimension in which we live, there are all manner of things transpiring under the surface layer of the world’s consciousness that we are just not aware of. Why this?…Why that?…How could a loving God allow all this suffering in the world?

I will be the first to admit that I have no answers for all the world’s suffering. I absolutely despise the suffering of anybody. Nevertheless, in the everyday world of money, relationships, career/work, health and intercession, two of the Bible verses that keep appearing and reappearing in my mind, as I continue to search for answers are “God is not mocked” and “The Kingdom of God is within you”.

What we choose to feel as true, becomes true. If we fear, or pick up on another’s fear, the origin of the fear will manifest. Fear is poison. If we love, or pick up on another’s love, the joy of that love will manifest. Love is truth. You cannot serve two masters. If through patience, discipline, faith and desire, you can find yourself in a place where your very state of consciousness, your awareness of being, totally encompasses and includes the fulfillment of your desire as real, right now, then, nothing in heaven, in hell, or anywhere in between can keep it from you.

Simple But Not Easy

“When you ask in prayer, if you believe, you will receive.” Is this a simple concept? Yes. Is this an easy concept? No. Years and years of habitual counterproductive thoughts and feelings are habits that need to be let go of. And letting go is hard.

Are you capable? Of course you are. You are a child of God and have the Kingdom of God within you. Now go forth and manifest for the glory of God.

Peace.

Conceive. Believe. Receive.

New Manifesting Technique: 18 X 10 X 40

18 X 10 X40 = Whatever You Desire

The focus of this week’s post is the little known manifesting technique of ” 18 X 10 X 40″. You may have heard of the 3 6 9 Method, the 7 7 7 Method, the 5 X 55 Method and the baby brother, the 3 X 33 Method but probably not the 18 X 10 X 40 Method. Well if you haven’t, don’t feel left out because I don’t think too many people have. I came to learn of it by chance decades ago and actually used it successfully. Being afflicted with the malady of metaphysical ADHD however, I moved on to other methods and techniques. In fact, at first I thought it didn’t work when nothing occurred after the allotted time period. Like most of my manifestations however, there was a distinct time lag between my initial expectation time frame date and the actual date the desired manifestation came into my world of third dimensional reality.

The gist of the method is for you to custom create eighteen strong affirmation statements of between ten and eighteen words each regarding your chosen desire. No less than ten and no more than eighteen. Do not just copy other affirmations you may have read somewhere. These affirmation statements have to be your own unique creation. Each statement has to strike a real chord with you personally. Only you know the best words that will “ring your chimes”. You can do it. Just take your time. Give it deep thought and see what statements lift you up into the clouds. Pay your mind no mind as it says to you, “That could never happen to you. Get real!” Respond to your mind with an old Harold Camping retort, “Thank you for caring and sharing. Now let’s move on.”

OK, you have done your work and you’ve got your eighteen statements which we will call “statements of fact”. Now, using a recording device, record each statement ten times in a row. When you are done you will have recorded one hundred and eighty statements. Since I was back in the Stone Age when I used this technique, I used a cassette recorder and a Sony Walkman. Record these statements in absolute privacy so you can be totally free and uninhibited. Negative comments or vibes from the peanut gallery can wreck the whole process. Inject strong feeling into your statements. Make every effort to make each of the statements sound a little bit different from the one before. That helps to keep your mind from wandering away. Then, just listen. When you are done, just turn off the recording device and stop thinking about the whole thing. Do this once per day for forty consecutive days without skipping a day. If you skip a day, you have to start over again at day one. The best times each day are during what is termed SATS (State Akin To Sleep). This is that time that you are in that twilight time of consciousness immediately upon waking or as you are drowsing off to sleep.

He Got His Desire…..And It Put Him On The Hot Seat

So how did I happen to come across this particular manifesting technique? Well, it all started back many moon ago with a college chum who subsequently swore off using it because it became too successful for him. He never told me where he got the technique from . Neither did he explain the significance of the 18, the 10 or the 40. He was just an average, ordinary guy like me. His deep desire was to make it with the chicks. Not just one, but a whole flock. He told me that he used this method and it worked better than he ever imagined. He wound up dating a half-dozen women at once, one even twice his age. When he confided to me his dilemma, he was deeply in debt, his “chick-mania” was affecting his studies, and he was entangled in all manner of boyfriend-girlfriend relationship drama. I clearly remember to this day him saying to me, “I can’t believe this one crazy chick. I told her bluntly to get lost and she just keeps coming back for more. I can’t get rid of her.” Anyway, to fast forward the story, he eventually was able extricate himself from his dilemma. He said the manifestation must have “run its course”.

To say the least, I was intrigued by the whole episode. I decided to try the 18 X 10 X 40 method the way he explained it to me as best as I could. I went for the strong desire to get myself in a better financial position. I imaged in my mind being in that place of improved finances without trying to figure out how it was going to happen. It took me awhile to get the affirmations just right. Then I had to make sure that I recorded the cassette where nobody could hear me. I didn’t want anyone laughing at me. I listened faithfully for forty days. At the end of the forty days, I did not see any improvement in my financial situation. I did not deride the process however. I just figured maybe my friend just had the knack for it or somehow I didn’t do it right. I went on with my daily activities, considered it an interesting experiment and pretty much forgot all about it. The results did not kick in until several months later when a series of unexpected events did indeed improve my financial situation dramatically. Why the time lag in effect? Your guess is probably as good as mine but it probably is a combination of the depth and strength of my belief, unconscious inner resistance to letting go and a lack of discipline on my part (plain old mental laziness).

Today’s Special At A Very Affordable Price

Why are there so many manifestation techniques floating around out there in Internet Land? Probably for the same reason that a restaurant menu doesn’t limit itself to just one item. Just as an item on the menu may appeal to one patron, while another patron finds appeal in a different menu item, one person may get excited about a particular technique while another may look at it and say “Meh, just doesn’t interest me”.

The one common denominator in the manifesting techniques that I have written about in this blog over the past year is that they all can be done without any outlay of money, What they do require however is (1)time, (2)effort, (3)discipline, (4)patience, and most important of all – (5)faith – belief that they work.

With this particular manifesting technique, you will require some type of recording device. Then you will need ear buds or ear phones so that you can listen to your affirmation statements in private. Do not allow others to hear as it will only invite comments that will despoil your faith in the process. Listen to them in their entirety when you wake up or when you drift off to sleep or both if you so wish. Refrain from thinking about it in between listening sessions. Let Divine Intelligence work out the necessary details. Your job is to be those affirmations as you are listening to them. If the forty days are up and you haven’t received the desired results, refrain from making any judgement as to the process. If you have done your end of things conscientiously, the soup is definitely simmering on the stove. When it’s ready, it is going to be downright delicious.

Believe. Receive.

Your Most Important Best Day

The Game of “Best Day of Your Life”

In the comedy movie, “The Water Boy”, in the last scene of the movie, the movie’s hero, Bobby Bouchet, has just gotten married to Vicki Betancourt. They are both outside of the church preparing to leave (on a riding lawnmower LOL). Their friends are also outside the church and are shouting encouragement and good wishes to the two newlyweds. Before riding off into the sunset, Bobby Bouchet shouts to his friends with complete conviction, “This is the best day of my life.” As you review your life, decade by decade, are you able to say with equal conviction what that one best day of your life was?

The “Best Day of Your Life” game is an interesting and illuminating exercise in thought and feeling. I played this game and could not narrow it down to just one single day. I think each decade that goes by it becomes increasingly more difficult to do that. What I did do however was adjust the rules of the game. I allowed myself to choose decade by decade what my one best day was. In each decade there were many really good days, as well as many bad ones (and some downright horrible) but this game requires you to choose that one best day. Even splitting things up into decade by decade, it still took some deep reflection, completely free of the expectations of any other person. As I am sixty-eight years old, I came up with seven best days. As I am guessing for a number of reasons that I have one decade left, there is still time for one more “grand finale” best day.

I have already chosen what that final best day will be. It is what I call “Culmination Day”. It is that day that has already happened in my mind. It is that day that I am sitting at my desk, with a cup of coffee, looking out the window and saying, “Thank you Father. It is done.” It is the day when all the pain, all the suffering, all the obstacles are mere footnotes in my history as I feel the unbounded joy of seeing that all of my conscious manifesation choices have come into fruition.

Now Substitute Your Face For That of Ponzi

OK, so what’s the purpose of this game you say. Why should you bother to play it? Answer: Because it forces you to be one thousand percent honest with yourself about what day or days in your life brought you true inner joy. Many times humans may say things or do things or even think things based on the expectation of others. In doing so we execute a con job on ourselves. In the image above you see Charles Ponzi, the con man who originated the flim flam known today as a Ponzi scheme. Boy does he ever look the part of a huckster con man. His photo reminds me of those guys who used to sell vegetable choppers on the Steel Pier in Atlantic City. Looked great as he was demonstrating it. Then when you got home you saw that it was a piece of shit. I still remember my father cussing up a blue storm when the chopper broke within five minutes of using it. Anyway, in the best day game you penetrate the outer crust of bull manure and reveal to yourself truths, truths that you can build on to make your life better. You can stop with that royal con job that you do on yourself better than even Charles Ponzi ever could.

Your Future Most Important Day But Right Now

Your best day for any decade can be but does not have to be a typical life-changing event such as a birth, or a marriage, or a healing, or a career move or, well, you get the idea. It can be something quite simple and unassuming. For example, in the decade between birth and ten years old, I like most children had good days, bad days and days somewhere in between. The very best day that I can recall however was a day that I spent at my grandparents’ house on the lake with my Mom and brother. We all didn’t go around holding hands and singing Kumbaya, but on that particular day, as a kid, with my mother and brother and grandmom and grandpop, I just felt such love surrounding me, infusing me, that I begged my Mom to stay late because I didn’t want the day, or the feeling to end. Nothing out of the ordinary happened. It was just a feeling but it was a feeling beautiful beyond description.

To get back to the answer to the question of – why bother? – it is because you can productively use the feeling that you felt on that best day to bring about a desired manifestation in your life right now. Identify your desire. Then go back to the feeling you felt on that best day. The happenstance that caused that day is unimportant. What is of the utmost importance however is how you felt on that day. Feel it. Feeling the feeling of it. Then step into your current desire as if has arrived to you transferring your joy from the best day event to the manifestation of your current desire. Once you have sufficiently felt your current desire as realized and natural, then wait for Universal Intelligence to bring about the means to the end. And give thanks that it has really happened, because it has.

Assume Your Life – Money, Relationships, Career, Health, Intercession

Meet Mr. Chi

In traditional Chinese culture chi (or qi) is said to be the vital life force energy of a human being. Your chi is the ultimate level of your vitality. While you are here on this earth, at a certain age you begin to desire certain things. As an infant it’s “feed me and change that poopy diaper”. As a child it may be just playing and having a good time. Even as an adult it may continue to just be playing and having a good time. Most of humanity however usually formulate definite goals and objectives in different areas of life (ie., school, job, marriage, security in living, etc.). In order for you to manifest into reality whatever your desire is, you must have a clear idea or vision of exactly what that desire is. I introduce to you now an individual, an acronym, that encompasses every desire you will ever have in your life. His name is Mr. Chi and he has everything that you possibly desire.

An Examination of Mr. Chi

Let’s examine the five facets of Mr. Chi – Money, Relationships, Career, Health, and Intercession.

M = Money. Money is a necessary tool for purchasing everything you feel you need for optimal living. Money buys food, water, shelter, transportation, clothing, electricity, internet, heat in the winter, cooling in the summer, gifts for others, entertainment, etc. It can also buy the vices a person may desire such as drugs, sex, gambling, power over others, etc. Even if you choose not to develop specific goals in your life and simply wish to remain in the playing and having a good time mode, you still need money or you need to sponge off of another person’s money.

R = Relationships. This is a wide collection of desires under the universal umbrella of the type of relationship you desire to have with: God, your self, your loved ones including your father, your mother, your brothers or brothers, your sister or sisters, your spouse or fiance, your ex-spouse or fiance, your children, your relatives, your friends, your neighbors, your acquaintances, the strangers you randomly meet, Mother Nature, your schoolmates, your teachers, your co-workers, your clients, your boss, and members of the worldwide ABC Club (assholes, bitches and the clueless).

C = Career. This area of human desire has to do with what type of daily occupation that you choose to engage in. If you are not employed in any capacity, or in business for yourself, then career means the daily interests and avocations you pursue, whatever they may be. In essence, career is how you spend those hours, days, weeks, months and years that make up the substance of your lifetime. Career is what you choose to do with your alloted time.

H = Health. Good health, I will assume, is something you desire for yourself. It is most likely deep down what everybody in the world really desires, even those with self-destructive or suicidal personalities. Health means much more than your body and all of its components being in a vibrant and pain-free status. It also means that your inner spirit is in attunement with Original Source and that your mind is operating in a manner that brings you endless peace and fulfillment.

I = Intercession. This universal human desire is to do something that will bring substative help and assistance to another individual or group of individuals. Intercession on behalf of another is something that you do, whether it is known or is anonymous, that will enrich the life of another. The personal satisfaction that you get when you help another in their life journey allows you to experience heaven right here on earth.

Success In Working With Mr. Chi

So there you have it – money, relationships, career, health, intercession. This jazz quintet has it all. Look closely at each of these five areas of Mr. Chi. In each one, what is it that you desire? Once you have clearly established in your mind what your true desire is, then go right to “the end” (result). Dwell in that consciousness only. Your state of consciousness, that of dwelling in the end result, will ultimately bring about the result you desire. Discipline yourself to have patience. The Bible, the greatest scientific book ever written, says it clearly, ” Seek ye first the Kingdom of Heaven and all things shall be added unto you.”

All over the world, billions of prayers go unanswered. Why? Because prayers are offered to a God that is far away in the heavens somewhere. The prayers are offered to a God that does not exist. The Kingdom of God is within you. Take the universal desire of money for example. Men pray for money while they are conscious of not having enough money. What they are conscious of is granted to them. If you pray for money, deny the evidence of your circumstances. Assume the consciousness of having plenty of money. Feel it. FEEL IT. Let that consciousness filter down to the very core of your being, then let go and go about your daily activities. Let Universal Intelligence take over as to the means of how it happens. Your only responsibility is to assume the end result. Seek the Kingdom of God and all things shall be added unto you. Get into the consciousness first, and the object of your desire is compelled to appear. And remember to be thankful.

Inner Space…….You’ll Love What You Find There

Outer Space Is Not The Final Frontier

Arguably the most famous introductory voiceover in the history of television was from the original Star Trek series from the 1960’s. Intoned by William Shatner, the opening narration is known to millions of Star Trek fans worldwide: “Space…..the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its five-year mission — to explore strange new worlds…..to seek out new life and new civilizations…..to boldly go where no man has gone before.”

As much as the above narrative voiceover has ingrained itself into tv history, I am going to disagree with Bill Shatner. Outer space is not the final frontier. That title is reserved for (drumroll, please)…..Inner Space.

Inner Space – It’s A Groovy Trip

Before trying to understand what is meant by Inner Space (to go within), let us take a look at the usual (normal) way that a man or woman goes about making a big decision about something. Let’s take a random example of looking for the right job. John Doe has his educational or vocational credentials. He now needs to decide what industry to go after, what companies to target and what type of job he should go after. As he makes his decision, John is going to look at several different things that will help him make his decision. Some of these things include: what companies are hiring, where is the work geographically located, how much pay is he going to receive at hiring and in the future, the input of his wife or girlfriend, if John has kids to support, John’s parents and family, what type of jobs are hot and which are cold, how tight the economy is, his financial situation, how much student debt he has, and so on.

Every one of the things that John is looking at and taking into consideration as far as his decision are “on the outside”. They are all part of his external environment. None of them are part of the internal part of him that has access to the kingdom of the Divine, that inner realm within John that always, always, has the right answer to every question. To get that answer however, John has to go there…..Inner Space, the kingdom of God, alignment with the consciousness of Creation.

The kingdom of God is an eternal spiritual realm over which God reigns as king. It is a spiritual realm that you can enter and explore and experience. You must however, make the choice to give up pre-established expectations. Just let the light of God illuminate your path and then follow that pathway. Just as your car’s headlights allow you to make your way on the road in the darkness of night, the light of God allows us to travel to Inner Space to realms of higher consciousness, power, love and truth. As they used to say back in the 60’s and 70’s, it’s a groovy trip. In our earthly existence, there are limits. We can’t fly. We can’t snap our fingers and have every wish appear before our eyes. We can’t jump off a twenty story building and not get splattered. We can’t spin our head around like a top. Within the realm of Inner Space however, there are no limits. There are only endless possibilities.

The Kingdom of God Is Within You

From Luke 17:21 KJV — Neither shall they say, Lo here! or Lo there! for behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

OK fine. Sounds good you might say, but how do you get there?! Good question. Here is my answer. First, you have to understand. Understand and fully believe that your access to Unlimited Intelligence and Wisdom is already within you. It is there now. It has always been there from the moment you were born. It never leaves you although of course, you can refuse to access it (free will) if you so choose. Second, get rid of your thoughts about the past and the future. Neither exist. One is gone, never to return and the other is merely a collection of possibilities, none of which has actually occurred. That leaves just the present moment. In this moment of right now, zero in on your creative intention — what do you want. The very first words uttered by Jesus in the gospel were “What do you seek?” When you have this figured out, then believe you already have it. Feel it. It is now yours. Third and last of all, wave the white flag of surrender — surrender to the Higher Power that created you. Not surrender like the losing side in a battle but surrender in your attempts to control everything. Let Universal Intelligence handle all the details. Dwell on the Almighty in the moment of now, in whatever way works best for you, and then get the hell out of the way and let Universal Intelligence run the show. You couldn’t possibly have a better producer and director.

Your Personal Magic Soviet Textbook

The Soviet Textbook

Josef Stalin. Russian Big Cheese. Dictator of the Soviet Union from 1924 to his death in 1953. He is seated in the middle of the front row in the image above. He pretty much was the new tsar of Russia taking over where Nicholas II left off, with seven years of Lenin in between. The big difference however between Stalin and Nicholas was that Russia/the Soviet Union was now totally immersed in the political structure known as totalitarian communism.

In the Soviet Union, as was the case in the 1930’s and 1940’s with fascism in Germany, the state was paramount. The state controlled the newspapers. The state controlled radio and movies. The state controlled travel. The state controlled industry. The state controlled agriculture. Maybe most important of all, the state controlled the youth of the society through its total control of the education system. Of course, in a political system such as this, the functionaries of the state wrote and printed all of the textbooks approved for use throughout all levels of schooling, primary thru university. While science and mathematics were pretty standard with the textbooks of schools outside of the Soviet Union, things like history and literature were most assuredly “bent” to reflect whatever the state wanted to feed the populace. History textbooks reflected history as what Stalin and the communists wanted it to be. Factual data was secondary to promoting the communist agenda.

Now You See Him…..Now you Don’t

One of the unusual facets of the Soviet textbooks was the “now you see him, now you don’t” phenomena. A famous example of this was a famous photograph taken in the mid-twenties of Stalin and three other luminaries of the communist revolution. They were standing around a desk of some sort. Stalin was more or less in the middle and the other three were by his side. First of all, Stalin, who had a pitted face due to contracting smallpox as a child, miraculously now had a perfect complexion. As each year or two went by, one by one the other three poor slobs fell out of favor with Stalin and wound up executed or given a free one-way ticket to Siberia. In the second edition of that textbook, the picture showed Stalin and two others. The fourth was totally removed from the photograph and all textbooks having the picture of comrade number four were destroyed. In the next edition of this text, there was no mention of comrade number four ever existing and the photo showed Stalin with two revolutionary comrades. The man never existed. The next edition of the text showed Stalin and one other revolutionary comrade. Yes, comrade number three must not have laughed loud enough at one of Stalin’s jokes because he was tried and executed and unceremoniously deleted from the textbook. No mention is made of the now two deleted men. The final edition of the text shows Joe Stalin standing alone at the desk. I think he’s even a little taller now in the photo. That’s right, the other guy was likewise given the heave-ho and all mention of him completely excised from the new edition of the text. It reminds me of a Twilight Zone episode that I watched one time where something similiar happened.

Having total control of the educational system of the Soviet Union, the communist structure merely revised their history to whatever they wanted it to be. Due to censorship imposed by authorities, history was what Stalin and Company said it was. What children believed about their past was based what they were taught from the revised reimaging of it by their totalitarian controllers.

Your Own Personal Soviet Textbook

So what does all this Stalin and soviet stuff have to do with manifesting something that you want in your life? Well it has to do with the concept of revision popularized by Neville Goddard. Revision is a simple concept. Notice that I said simple but I did not say easy. If some event in your life does not meet your satisfaction, just revise it in your mind to something that you find more satisfactory. After you do that part of the revision process, then invoke within yourself the feeling that your revision was actually real. Feel the way you woud feel if things happened according to your revision. Once you do this part of the process then drop the matter and go about your activities for the day. This whole thing need not take more than five minutes of your time. That’s it. Your personal soviet textbook method for manifesting something.

There are many success stories on the internet of people using revision. Here is one example: A man’s relatives were in town to visit him. They lived far away so he did not get to see them very often. Among the group of relatives was his mom. The mom texted him saying that his niece, just a small tyke, had caught a severe cold. The man revised the text in his mind to say, “Your niece looked to be catching a bad cold but she feels much better now and everything is on track for tonight.” The man continued reading and re-reading his revised text until he got himself to the point where he really believed it was real. Then he dropped the matter and went on with his day. That evening, when he met with his relatives, they told him that the niece bounced back quickly and the cold symptoms left as if she had never had them. That is but one example of manifesting using revision.

Try it. You might be like Mikey from that old Life cereal commercial. That was the one where two brothers at the kitchen table saw a new box of cereal their mother had bought that was supposed to be healthy. They both said that they were not going to try it. They then said they would give it to their younger brother. Mikey, who hates everything (food-wise). Then to their surprise, Mikey liked the cereal whereupon they poured the cereal into their own bowls. Further study about revision is readily available on the net. Pour some into your bowl.

A Never Ending State of “Thank You”

The Concept of Gratitude

If you enter the word “gratitude” into the search box on a google search, you will receive over two hundred million search results. Obviously then, the concept of gratitude has evoked a huge ocean of human thought and opinion over the ages. If you go to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, under the word “gratitude” you find the definition “the state of being grateful”. Not very helpful. Continuing on and going to the word “grateful” you find the definition of “appreciative of benefits received”. Ok then, a generic definition could be described as a feeling – a human feeling of being appreciative of benefits received. So here is where we run into trouble with the concept of gratitude.

That Troubling Bible Verse

In my Sunday school class when I was a child, we were studying in the Book of First Thessalonians one Sunday. when the teacher got to chapter 5, verse 18. This verse states “In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding. An alarm went off in my head regarding this verse. My mind went to all the people in this world who are suffering in one way or another. I hate suffering. I mean I really hate it. I have never seen anything noble about it. The very thought of suffering, whether it is my own suffering, or a loved one’s suffering, or the suffering of a total stranger, actually makes me sick to the stomach. I asked the teacher “how could you be thankful for suffering”? The general response that I remember was that (a) man’s sin was the cause of all suffering, (b) we do not have the divine perspective of God, and (c) suffering deepens one’s faith. I was about to respond with a “Yeah, ok, but…” however the last time I did that with regard to another verse, the group started giving me dirty looks. Thus, I just nodded my head, said “Ok” and kept my mouth shut. Inside however, I was definitely not satisfied with the answer.

Science Weighs In On Gratitude

In 2015, there was a scientific study of the brain neural impulses done at the University of Southern California, Department of Psychology, with regard to the human feeling of gratitude. Participants in the study underwent magnetic resonance imaging of their brains while external stimuli were used to induce the feeling of gratitude. The results revealed that the ratings of gratitude on the part of the study participants correlated with well-defined neural brain impulses observed in the anterior cingulate cortex and medial prefrontal cortex of the brain. This study in affective neuroscience pinpointed the brain circuitry that accompanies the feeling of gratitude.

So There It Is – It Is All For You After All

You live in an outer shell that we call the human body. Within this shell resides your spirit. At some point after our birth, you ultimately shed this outer shell when it stops working. We call this event “death”. Your spirit, which is pure energy, proceeds onward. I cannot tell you exactly where or how your spirit will proceed after death because this is not learned until after death. While on this earth however, your energy, your spirit, resides within your body. It is the true you, and, being pure energy, it can project outward. You may have experienced something of this when for no rational reason whatsoever, you felt “good vibes” or “bad vibes” from another person.

Electricity is a form of energy. Neural impulses within the brain are electrical. When we activate those neural transmitters in our brain that science has identified as dealing with gratitude, these electrical impulses are picked up on by Universal Intelligence – All That Is. The universe has consciousness. As the early twentieth century author Wallace Wattles put it, ” There is a thinking stuff from which all things are made, and which, in its original state, permeates, penetrates and fills the interspaces of the universe. A thought in this substance, produces the thing that is imaged by that thought.”. Matching, or like impulses are then attracted to you by your transmission of gratitude neural impulses. In other words, if you truly feel gratitude, the universe has been created in such a manner that you will then be given something (“good stuff” I call it) that matches up with the level of your gratitude. Thus, the reason we are told by Scripture to “be thankful in everything” is for your own benefit or for the benefit of the one for which you wish to favorably intercede. If you are in trouble, it is a way out. Loving Omniscience did not create human beings so that there would be an endless supply of fawning sycophants. Loving Omnipotence has graced you with a never ending way of receiving good stuff in your life and thus displaying the glory of the I Am through your never ending state of gratitude. So there it is – gratitude is all for you after all.

Make A Difference With One New Thing

Every Day For Thirty-One Days

The universe is absolutely chock full of different little life hacks that you can do to give yourself a boost. They don’t usually require monumental actions on your part. They may even be considered by a majority of human beings to be inconsequential and are dismissed as of no value. C’est la vie. One of these overlooked little things that you can do to add to your pile of life’s poker chips is to insert one thing different into your daily routine for a month. Pay attention. Watch for little signs of good coming your way. In some way, this alchemic action seems to help keep the pores of your mind open to better receive “good stuff”. Your creativity and brainpower are stimulated. You may ask just how doing something differently bring you any possible benefit? It’s stupid you say. Science doesn’t support such a notion. Well then, don’t do it. Stop reading now and wait for next Thursday’s post. As is always the case, you choose. Free will is a most beautiful gift from the Almighty.

It Doesn’t Hurt and It Can Be Fun

There is entirely too much drudgery in the daily life of human beings, especially after the “school-job-marriage-children-family-duties-responsibilities-blls to be paid-crises to be handled-conflict to be dealt with-“you better go to that job you dislike or else”-“maybe I will get five years after i retire to do what I like” phase of your life begins. First of all, plotting out “thirty-one days of difference” is not painful. It will not hurt you. Second of all, you may even find it to be a fun diversion from your regular rut, excuse me, I mean, routine. When you can do something that you find is fun that also contributes to your overall wellbeing, I believe that is what is termed a “win-win” situation.

Don’t Take The Freeway Home Today

To jumpstart this little personal experiment, here are thirty one examples of ways that you can experience something different each day of the month. If you find that some are not to your liking, feel free to cook up your own.

1) Take a Different Way To and From Work or School (that it may take longer is not the point here).

2) Eat your meals with your non-dominant hand with one eye closed (after this you will appreciate more your dominant hand and your second eye).

3) Drink your morning coffee out of a different cup in a different place in a different way (for example, if you drink with with cream and sugar, drink it black).

4) Do a one day fast from something you do every day (social media, texting, soda, beer, food, tv, sugar, talking, worrying. etc.). I know, this can be really hard.

5 ) Do something totally random in a public setting (like Peter Finch from the movie “Network” – “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore”).

6) Go to the supermarket, pick out one fruit or vegetable you never ate before and eat it.

7) Block out one uninterupted hour without fail to something that you have been wanting to do or start but never seem to have time for. If you can’t do this one, maybe you really do not want to do it.

8) Read one full chapter in a new book.

9) Take a short walk along a route that you never walked before (please be safe, no walking where you do no feel safe).

10) Learn how to say thank you in a foreign language and say it to someone when the occasion arises (ie., someone holds open a door for you). An example would be “As the Polish say, Dziekuje”.

11) Watch a movie (something without commercials) that you never watched before.

12) Buy a newspaper and read something on each page.

13) Wear a shirt that you haven’t worn in over a year.

14) Pick out one favorite bible verse or a favorite quote from someone and continually repeat it in your mind over and over again for 20 minutes while you are commuting to or from work or school or some other activity where your train of thought will not be interrupted

15) Treat yourself at one meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner) to something you never eat or drink because it is just too expensive. Savor it.

16) Just get started on something, 15 minutes will suffice, something that needs to get done that you have been procrastinatiing on. The starting of it sometimes busts the dam.

17) Spend fifteen miniutes outlining a plan to accomplish one single thing that you should have done years ago and have always come up with an excuse for not doing it. Then, even if it is a tiny ten minutes per day, start doing it, even if it takes you another ten years.

18) Drink eight eight ounce glasses of spring water over sixteen hours (four half litre bottles). That comes to four ounces per hour.

19) Go to bed three hours later than usual (for me this would be 1:30 instead of 10:30) Or wake up three hours earlier than usual (for me this would be 3:00 instead of 6:00).

20) Send 3 people a silent blessing that you pass on the street or in a car. An example: “God bless this person today. Thank you”.

21) Get a full eight hours sleep. Or if you already do, then stay in bed for another hour or two.

22) Take the stairs instead of the elevator.

23) Walk in the rain for ten minutes (a light rain, not a deluge).

24) Declutter for a solid hour (closet, bureau, storage box, your car, your mind).

25) If you live in southern New Jersey, order a cheesesteak from Chick’s Deli (Cherry Hill) or a pizza from Marinos Pizzeria (Runnemede) or Szechuan food from Han Dynasty (Cherry Hill).

26) Take an old fashioned 30 minute soaking bath.

27) Compose a four line song and sing it once every hour in your mind (or if you are alone, out loud).

28) Take your blood pressure once in the morning and once in the evening.

29) Write down something you want to learn about the computer or your smartphone – spend one solid uninterrupted hour at least getting started in learning it.

30) Watch the geese or the birds or the clouds for ten solid minutes.

31) Find one different thing every hour to say a silent thank you for (probably the easiest thing to do of this whole list).

32) If you experience a really vivid dream that sticks with you after you wake up, write down the main points of it and ponder it over the course of the day.

Again, if you fail to see how any of this will help you, just do it anyway. It won’t kill ya. See what happens. None of the things above will take more than one hour out of your day (most will take much less). For one measly month, you can afford it. And you just might have some fun along the way. Before starting this experiment, write your thirty-one things down in your notebook or a sheet of paper and check them off each day as you do them. If you subsequently perceive that nothing happened as a result, you are wrong. You experienced thirty-one new experiences to add to your life’s collection. Those experiences all add to your lifetime of learning. And learning is good (especially if you do not have to do it “the hard way”). If you don’t like some of these examples, by all means, make up your own, exercise your Imagination. If good things happen for you following this little experiment, the skeptic will say, “Nonsense, they would have happened anyway.” How about this response — You decide. Refuse to allow any other human being to decide what you are supposed to believe. Refuse to allow the controllers to have control over your beliefs. They do not have that right. You were born with free will. Use it. Live free. Believe free.

Busting Free From That Damned Stupid Cycle

The Stock Market Chart Syndrome

Is there anyone else besides me out there in internet land whose life resembles one of those stock market charts (picture in your mind a series of connected “W’s”). Things go good for a time, then something happens and troubles set in. Then the troubles eventually subside and good times return to embrace me. Then they decide to go on vacation and the bad times come in to take their place. I term it “that damned stupid cycle.” I can picture the gods on Mount Olympus looking down at me when times are good and Zeus says to another god, “He thinks things are good now. Watch this” (and he pows me with a lightning bolt of misfortune). Then Zeus and his confederate start boisterous laughter as they high five each other.

Me Helping Me

It has taken me almost seven decades but I have finally arrived at that point where I think I have figured out the primary reason why my life has been as it has been. It is a different reason for each of us. In my case, there is no more margin of error for me as my time on earth is quickly running out. Only a few short years remain. I feel like Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz in the tower where the wicked witch turns over the hourglass and says, “See this – This is how much time you have left to be alive. And it isn’t long my pretty, It isn’t long.” Now is the time for me to act with urgency to do what is necessary to bust free from that damned stupid cycle.

As I have written these weekly posts over the course of the last year, I have slowly come to realize a grand irony in my writing these posts. It hit me the other day that they are meant as much to help me personally as much as they are to help anyone that may be reading them. I have a number of manifestations pending now in a number of different areas. The thoughts and ideas that wind up on paper in the form of these blog posts are all part of my crystallizing those manifestations into my reality.

What Are You Prepared To Do ?

In the movie, “The Untouchables”, starring Kevin Costner and Sean Connery, when Costner as Elliot Ness requests help from Connery’s character, Jim Malone, an honest Chicage cop, in putting Al Capone in prison, Malone asks him, “What are you prepared to do?” Ness answers, “Everything within the law”. Malone responds, ” And then, what are you prepared to do? If you open the can on these people Mr. Ness, you must be prepared to go all the way because they won’t give up the fight until one of you is dead.”

For the purposes of this blog post, I will reframe that last statement by Connery into this statement – unless you do what is necessary in your life, either you will be walking around captive to the damn stupid cycle or the damned stupid cycle will finally be put to death.

Are you ready to do what is necessary to bust free?

The very existence of your true life depends on your raw honest answer to that one question.

If the answer is yes, then proceed forth now and do it. If the answer is no, then stop bemoaning your fate. Accept living in the cycle for the remainder of your time here and just try to make the best of it. Maybe right now you are just not ready. Maybe at a later time you will change your mind and be prepared to do what is necessary.

The choice is yours. You have been given free will by Divine Source in order that you may live full, live abundantly, and live free of that damned stupid cycle if you so choose, but, only if you so choose.

What do you choose? What are you prepared to do?
